Thanks for sharing your sailing adventure's Paul , Iwas amazed how the First Mate handled in some of the sea conditions you have sailed in . I live in bay area off the south west coast of Australia .Look forward to seeing more wonderful adventurous sailing from you Paul and crew or is he the (firs mate ).

nice video! I've just recently hit 20 years since I first learn to sail and I can say seeing dolphins is pretty common when you really get out there! so you have more stuff like this to look forward to! Also, even after all that time sailing from time to time I still see new dolphin behaviour that I've never seen before. Sailing in my old boat (26 foot monohull) I often had dolphins come and swim with me, playing in the bow wave. I was just going where I was going and they came to me. But one time, I was just sailing quite slowly about 3 knots, in light wind. I had been sailing since yesterday already, and a single pilot whale (which looks like a very large dolphin) came and swam slowly right in front of my bow. Some times it seemed like my boat was gonna hit it but with a flick of the tail it would surge forwards. It could swim much faster if it wanted! but it kept coming back around and swimming with me. Watching a while I realized it was a single whale because there was always a particular small sploge on it's back in the same place. it accompanied me for several hours!
