I embarked on a solo journey to Buenos Aires, Argentina, where I navigated the city using various modes of transportation including walking, cycling, and public transit. My exploration encompassed everything from nightclubs to cafes and beyond, allowing me to gain insights into the rich culture of this vibrant city often referred to as the Paris of Latin America.

hello! I'm glad you enjoy your stay here. I hope it doesn't bother you, there are two points to highlight. Regardless of the pollution, that color of the river is that way due to the sediments it brings from the north, which is what formed the islands of the Parana River delta a short distance from Buenos Aires. Another issue is regarding the black population, although until 1860 it was 30% of the population out of a total of 1 million inhabitants. The arrival of more than 6 million European immigrants caused that percentage to decrease greatly. On the other hand, there were never segregation laws, so that large mass of European immigrants were able to have children with the indigenous and black population that existed and with the passage of generations, it is most likely that these descendants have lost their own characteristics and that is why the mestizo has emerged but with a great European genetic contribution, especially Italian, Spanish. On the other hand, since there were no large plantations like in the USA or Brazil, it was not an attractive market for the slave trade, without also taking into account that by the assembly of 1813, the children of slaves were born free and slavery was completely abolished in the 1850 I hope the explanation has been useful to you and you understand a little about what you see every day on the streets here.

History will never bother me but it’s important to understand all the intricate parts that make up the past. There are educational resources that depict the arrival of European immigrants as a catalyst to change the demographics of Latin America. I appreciate your extensive elaboration and the dates, I aim to condense information in some of my videos. www.cambridge.org/core/books/racial-subordination-in-latin-america/spanish-america-whitening-the-race-the-unwritten-laws-of-blanqueamiento-and-mestizaje/254E9DBB292F852D542CC9F13AC827C1

@ "Las Bases" was one of the texts that inspired the Constitution of 1853, which in its Article 25 establishes that "The Federal Government shall encourage European immigration and may not restrict, limit, or impose any tax on the entry into Argentine territory of foreigners whose purpose is to cultivate the land, improve industries, and introduce and teach sciences and the arts." Other articles guarantee the civil rights of all inhabitants of the Confederation (Art. 14), the right to property (Art. 17), and legal security (Art. 18). Article 20 states that "Foreigners enjoy in the territory of the Confederation all the civil rights of citizens; they may engage in industry, commerce, and professions; own real estate, buy and sell property; navigate rivers and coasts; freely practice their religion; make wills and marry according to the law. They are not obliged to accept citizenship or to pay extraordinary compulsory contributions." One of the most important points was respect for freedom of religion, which contradicted the historically exclusive Spanish and Catholic heritage. Beyond regional variations, emigration served as a safety valve for highly conflictive societies. In fact, political emigration had begun with the exile of liberals and republicans and continued later with that of socialists, anarchists, and communists. In some cases, such as in Italy, the authorities encouraged the emigration of radical activists, granting them freedom and a "clean" passport in exchange for leaving Italian territory. To those who emigrated for social or political reasons, we must add those who expatriated for religious reasons. Among them were both members of minorities who emigrated to carry out community projects in their destination countries-such as the Waldensians-and groups that were victims of persecution in their countries of origin, such as Jews and Armenians.

Regarding the immigration of Black people, at least here, it is a phenomenon of the last 30 years, especially of people from Angola, Cape Verde, or Senegal, although also from Haiti, Jamaica, and other Latin American countries. Personally, I believe that the cost of traveling to this part of the world may have also played a role.
