Short episode today! We're fishing in a location known for it's dangerous waves / landing zone. You know it's scary when you're launching your kayak at a surf destination. Ensei slid into home nearly avoiding the wipeout. You guys killed it. After getting out there with you guys on a easy, flat calm day…. I’m ready to try and step up to baby step no.2. This video was expert level 1000 with pucker factor extreme. Awesome!

You’re best bet is to just ride a wave in and pull back off it as you approach. That way you know what you’re going to get. When you start trying to time it between waves is when the unexpected can happen. I was hoping to see bigger waves than this.

Great job guy's. I envy you guy's. I do have a 120 pdl. With a trolling motor. But I fish large freshwater lakes. They can get sketchy when the wind pics up. But not like that. Glad you're all safe..🙏🙏🤟🎣

Good job, Nick. Learnt thru the years that When you have a window then you need to jump on it quickly and paddle like there is no tomorrow …. No hesitation. However, that location looks too scary when it has big rocks on the right side. The waves can mash you and your kayak into those rocks

Sketchy! Nice landing all things considered. Also I'd suggest stowing your rod so your diver, flasher and rig isn't slamming around and potentially snagging you in the event of a flip

Nice job Nick! I wish there were more of these launch/landing vids with expert commentary- it's a steep learning curve that could be made significantly less so if experienced yakkers like you guys break down the essentials of this skill.

No problem Tim thanks for the kind comment! Sometimes it's tough since we launch so early in the morning it's hard to film with no light. Also coming in after a long day, normally our camera batteries are pretty much empty too. Things just worked out this day! Glad you enjoyed it

Interesting.Not to minimize in any way your unenviable plight in what could have been a dangerous landing. If you follow Rokkit ,what he launches and lands in usually makes this look fairly routine. Recently to the tune of a dislocated shoulder. It's always best to be safe and the time you don't act concerned is the time you'll be heading to the bottom .Stay safe,fish hard.

I do beach launches all the time and one thing is certain… coming back to the beach is always trickier than paddling out! That narrow opening you guys were aiming for was definitely sketchy!🎣😃
