Fun fact: here in Hawaii, we celebrate Pride in October as of recent years to coincide with National Coming Out Day and LGBT History Month. Which is fantastic because our summer heat is homophobic

Pride happens in November where I live, which is summer here in Brazil. In 2019 there was a drag queen which I was a huge fan of fully dressed as a 1940s Hollywood diva. She looked *amazing*, and it was like 35° C... I've never seen anyone so dedicated doing their job ever since.

They only mentioned the corset but basically everything worn in drag is plastic. Tights, undergarments, WIGS, stretch fabrics they are all syntetic therefore produce incredible amounts of heat with no ventilation 🥵

Seriously, the ice pack under the wig isn't a silly idea. Put icepacks EVERYWHERE you can under your clothing - sew extra pockets if necessary. And have wet towels and more icepacks backstage to use during any minutes you're not onstage. Advice from a stage manager.

I felt this entire episode on a cellular, spiritual level. It will be 32F outside and there is at least one (1) part of my body that still decides it’s a good idea to sweat. Once it’s gets above 70 outside, I’m continuously moist in all the worst possible ways. I may have been born in July but my ancestors built me for the far reaches of the northern hemisphere.

Texas here 🙋🏻♀️🥵🔥 so I totally understand. The addition of humidity is like literal hell on earth! Plus I feel y’all’s pain in Florida because I visit every summer and the way the sun shines there it’s insane. The super bright sun and it’s like beaming constantly! For me it’s like why even put make up and do my hair because it’s going to melt off and my hair is going to sweat and poof up because of the humidity! Okay I’m done lol I feel y’all’s struggle 😠
