Totally concur with Ed about the sax overkill on this song as well as its slight similarity to a TV theme song a la SNL! Great tune from a great drummer and it should also be stated that Mr. Weckl's work in the Chick Corea Akoustic Trio is also beyond reproach, on a more subtle level.

I don't disagree, but for example, guitar can't carry/drive this sort of music the way sax & keyboards can, so any "sax overkill" is akin to a heavy metal band having "guitar overkill" - it's true just by definition of the genre. Buzz Fieten is a fine guitarist and plays very tastefully on DWB tracks including a handful of guitar-based songs, but on balance, a folk-based "jam band" style (as opposed to a blues-based "fusion" style) is more ideal for a guitar-driven, improvised musical format, a-la Steve Kimock band.
