Lyrics: Unholy mother holding me Carving me from clay Shape for me, a world where all my kin forever stay Unholy mother, loving me Deeper than the grave Father thinks himself above The gifts you always gave Held from Hell and Heaven She sinned to keep me safe Safe from endless warring Here, our sanctuary Unholy mother teaching me Secrets she bestows Show me what the angels never wanted me to know Unholy mother leading me through the dark below Take me to the places that the angels fear to go I feel your blood within me A debt to you I owe I'll stay awhile and listen if You always love me so

The strings you used in this evoke a similar feel to Tristram’s theme, bringing me back to that first dive into the cathedral all those years ago playing the first. It’s a strange thing to feel nostalgia from a song you‘re only just listening to for the first time.

The lyrics are completely unrelated to my circumstances, but my dear cat who was my epilepsy assist pet and the other half of my being, went missing, and the instruments, the melody and your beautiful voices just made the tears flood out like the Kakhovska HHP again... Though it hurts, thank you so much, because it helps to just release it. Also, though the music sounds "beautifully tragic" for me, the addition of the lyrics must surely sound as almost unbearably beautiful for other people without such a raw sob story. Love it, JY. Keep them coming ❤️🔥

@@charlesmaclellan8124dude don't lie to people, the game is literally the worse out of the four. The damn thing can't even work with out a internet connection, not to mention with the day one patch it has its not even on the disc you buy. @Caedus696 Жыл бұрын
In the game humans were created by the union of a angel and demon who fell in love and wanted to get away from the endless war of heaven and hell. They created a sanctuary for themselves and their children. So it’s a hymn for Lilith the unholy mother of humanity.

I love this song. Playing throughout the story, I found myself siding with the mother more so rather than the side I was fighting for. I genuinely don't understand why she's the bad guy in all this. Especially when it was an "angel of justice" who killed Rathma! A man who viewed the balance between life and death! (I also main the necromancer class, so this hit me hella hard) This song reflects my feelings for the story perfectly. Thank you!!!

To be fair, the mc was never really on the side of Inarius or the church either. To me personally, I feel like she had the right idea with the wrong method. Instead of raising humans up, she drove the ones she was in contact with insane and tried to "protect" Sanctuary by making only herself stronger absorbing Malfisto (and assumingly take over the Burning Hells). I feel like we would have connected with her a lot more if this took place during the second time she fought Inarius in the lore - this was actually their third round. First time angles and demons that lived in Sanctuary were debating whether to kill their offspring (the nifilheim, who later became the human race). Inarius went into solitude to contemplate the matter, when he came out, Lillith had either slaughtered or banished all of the other angels and demons. Inarius couldn't bring himself to kill her, so he banished her to the void. Second time was when the Burning Hells found Sanctuary and made the Tribune. Inarius raised an army of believers to fight the demon worshipers, and somehow during that Lillith escaped from the Void. She gave power back to some of the humans, causing them to become nifilheim again. She then tried fighting both Inarius and the Tribune - while she lost and was banished to the void again, one of the nifilheim she raised managed to defeat Inarius and banish the demons back to the Burning Hells (his name is mentioned/worshiped in the game, can't remember what it was though). That's how Inarius was stuck in Malfisto's palace in the Burning Hells - after Inarius and the demons were defeated by the nifilheim, the angels and demons made a pact not to interfere with Sanctuary. Inarius was offered as a prisoner to Malfisto to sate his anger, presumably b/c he banished Lillith to the Void again (and the angles saw it as a punishment for betraying them). But in any case, I agree that this song is amazing. I'll gladly listen to it on repeat

Right, just ignore the part where she unleashed a 5 headed demon dog and the lord of flame on a city just to get more power, or the part where she turns people into murdering psycho's. Thanks mom! Interesting imagery. Almost like they're playing Diablo off as being not a force of great evil, but something inbetween, that was simply labelled as such by Angels, now. Not sure I like it, but the song, on the other hand? That shit slaps hard. Well done, Colm & Jonathan.
@rolkflameraven1483 Жыл бұрын
That isn't Diablo, that is Lilith. Still a demon, but calling her "Unholy Mother" isn't far from the truth when it comes to Diablo's lore. Diablo himself would be closer to "uncle" then anything else.

@@rolkflameraven1483 Ah, my bad. I assumed they just continued the trend with Diablo IV that started in Diablo III of having Diablo inhabiting a female body. I truly don't care for the product that the series has become since the second game's expansion, so I haven't played it at all.
