The light is genius! It would look very good under magma blocks also like the ones you did a while back.👍

Yeah, and why not make them yellow/red if you want fire terrain

you can buy what is called "button lights" online like on amazon and such. they are tiny battery powered lights tinier than those tea lights. think they would work well in the smaller terrain.
@modelsfromscratch5 жыл бұрын
This lighting technique opens up all sorts of possibilities👍👍 and they look so good in normal light too. 🤟🏻🤟🏻🤟🏻

Everything that glows is so good. I think I'll do a larger building and put some lights in. Some kind of a holy temple perhaps 🤔

That looks like out of a Horror story. Excellent!!! Would be an idea to build a whole Necropolis with that glowing effect and many skeletons and monsters lurking at each corner.
@tiaperrie30124 жыл бұрын
It's awesome. I'd use that for my Necrons. I have tried to make terrain for them before. :)

Just an idea but when I have left much brighter inner parts like that I often use a sponge or even a paint roller to do the dark surface. Filling the gaps after you put in the bright colour with a clear drying glue can also be neat.
@BardsCraft4 жыл бұрын
The sponge would certainly have made this easier

Great. That stuff can be used for alien Sci-Fi, Fantasy but also for some magic or matrix stuff in Cyberpunk settings like Shadowrun.

Maybe use a big flat sponge? That way you can cover a lot of area, and not get into the cracks?

Would probably have worked better 👍

Awesomeness. I've always loved the glowing stuff and green on black is such a great combo. Oh and, telling ppl, "for once, don't be an idiot." Priceless. Lol

Fantastic and very inspirational. This made me want to create some similar futuristic terrain for my Starfinder campaign. I might try to use my hot wire foam tool that looks like a nail to carve the cracks.

A CR3032 3v button cell and a led is cheap lighting, but a much smaller form factor

Looks amazing man! Honestly with these and the dracolich it's given me an interesting idea for a bossfight, one of these large pillars acts as a dracolich's phylactery and keeps reviving it until the pillar is destroyed. The dracolich will get weaker and more desparate as the fight goes on, realising how much danger it's actually in
@BardsCraft5 жыл бұрын
Never thought of that, sounds like a good battle ;)

This would work great with any major color. I could totally see red/copper glowing lines for a Mechanus or lava temple/field. Amazing work! Or you could have multiple pillars (red, green, blue, white, yellow, ect) as part of a multi-gathering of things.

Would a black Magic Marker work in place of the black paint to make it all appear as slightly glowing?
@skellybones2715 жыл бұрын
You can buy uv paint that glows
@RandProductions455 жыл бұрын
Do you think a hot needle would help to dig out holes for the candle? Or would this have a negative effect on how well the light shines through?
@BardsCraft5 жыл бұрын
Good idea, the foam melts and compresses slightly when melted, but I don't think that would stop the light in any significant way

I have a question: Do those lights produce much heat? If so is it enough that you might need to worry about melting the foam? I don't use lights like those much in my day to day life, so I don't know, but it'd be a concern of mine.

@@BardsCraft Fair, I found green Foam at Lowes but it's not nearly as translucent as the foam you use here. I tried to recreate this and i can barely get any light to shine through at all
@brandonet235 жыл бұрын
How do you implement these bc it seems impractical to me. Playing my first campaign earlier this year, it seems we are moving on from one area to the next pretty quick and never back tracked so it would seem like these would be a 1 time use thing. That will only be used for the moment that they visit it. Which might take 2 sessions.
@kocashima5 жыл бұрын
It all depends on the DM you can reuse these for different things like a evil pedestal

It only releases toxic fumes when burned. Cutting it with a knife is perfectly safe.
