could you please consider making a video about repression and how to stop avoiding remembering traumatic events that have caused unhealthy learned behaviors as a form of “protection”
@DrMaikaSteinborn Жыл бұрын
Yes, I'll definitely consider it, I've noted it down on my list of requests. When it comes to trauma, it's often best to work through it with a trained/licensed therapist, ideally with a specialization in trauma. Often, the trauma needs to be processed, so that the way it is represented in our memory changes from "trauma" to "memory". An unprocessed traumatic memory has a different structure in our psyche than processed traumatic memories have. Once it's been processed, it becomes easier to practice relating to these memories without avoidance or unhelpful protective behavior.

Reminds me of a lot of stuff I learned in DBT and mindfulness. Looking forwards to it! :))

That’s great! Yes, this comes from the same corner as DBT and mindfulness 💯 Very powerful tools!

Attachment leeds to suffering, but its to oversimplified for the minds of those who are not spiritually enlightened and do not meditate in a cave 24/7 Thank you for further elaborating on this and doing a deep dive on it.

Yes, the new exercises and explanations that are forming around this topic in psychology and therapy make it a lot easier to understand and apply - also for anyone who doesn’t/ can’t/ isn’t interested in meditation…
