Too easy. Engineers should suffer to create working devices. :) BTW, I'd add a capacitor to my pot's wiper to smooth the output voltage as I rotated it.

Yes! So you design all your favorite modules that way and keep the designs as a library. Kind of like a software library. Of course, sometimes you need more signals, but the concept is the same.
