"Red" Gura isn't really evil persay. More like her more primal side. More in tune with her "animal instincts" as a "shark". That's the best way I can describe it.

I like your analysis style. it is above what I would expect from a "react" video and you might even want to call it analysis in the title. of course viewers can see from the length of the video alone that it isn't a simple reaction. another suggestion would be to go through the musical analysis completely and the interpret the lyrics. I think that would improve the "flow" of the video. feel free to ignore what I wrote, I don't actually have any idea what I'm talking about. this isn't actual advice but rather just my thoughts

No I love getting feedback from my viewers. I'm new to this whole content creation thing so any advice you can give is greatly appreciated! I'll consider renaming it to analysis in the future. Lyrics on the other hand are more outside of my expertise as I am a instrumental musician and not a singer but I will try and make an effort looking into lyrics in the future! I think Gura mentioned in one of her streams that the song can be interpreted in at least two obvious ways but there is also a personal meaning behind the lyrics. One: her Pre-Hololive days (small indie youtuber with 'relaxing' content as a hobby with few subscribers) vs her current "life" (4.4m subscribers, one of the biggest vtubers on youtube as a job and just recently announced her return after recuperating from burnout). Two: lore-wise "Gawr" (Shark from Atlantis) vs "Gura" (Idol on land for humans) For a next Hololive reaction I would recommend Nekomata Okayu - Mogumogu Yummy! (Title: もぐもぐYUMMY！). Should also be a bit shorter to analyze as most non-EN Hololive songs son't have english lyrics / captions available but still serves as a good introduction to Okayu's voice and personality.

@@tgmaps yes and also very much an alcoholic. She felt pressured to be drunk every time she streamed to play into the role her viewers expected of her. I heard(might be completely conjecture) she got so bad that she needed professional help to combat her alcohol abuse. Becoming Gura wasn't just a new start professionally. Her past experiences have shown her what she doesn't want for the future and therefor gave her a goal to work towards. there are SO many more things that can be interpreted into the lyrics, I would probably need my own 40 minutes video to go over each line.

Gura has done several duet videos, twice with Calliope Mori, and once with Houshou Marine, Hakos Baelz, and Natsuiro Matsuri. There are also several songs she's participated in with her Hololive EN "Myth" group, several song covers, and some recent original MV since the release of "Reflect." There are also a LOT of songs Gura has sung on karaoke streams that haven't been archived on her channel but were saved on other channels. I highly recommend her several covers of Sabaton songs. BTW, from what I've read from several comments about this song, the Greek is ancient, not "standard."

To be honest, i never thought that i would watch or enjoy a reaction of a song this long lol You earned a subscriber lol If you like Gura, then you might enjoy another vtuber named Senzawa. She was one of the biggest vtubers in the world until she disappeared. I mention her because her fanbase is part of a theory speculated about this song that i think might be partly true. Gura is Gura and Senzawa is Senzawa, yet for some reason a vocal minority of Senzawa's fans were demanding that Gura start drinking and act like their lost idol. That being said, i hope Senzawa is in a happier place and am glad to see Gura surrounded by a loving fanbase and happily interacting with coworkers. Personally, i mainly believe the piece is about Gura wrestling and dealing with her self doubts and inner demons put into song. Hope you have a good one, and am looking forward to more of your analysis videos.

I always thought it was her talking about her old life, before hololive she was a streamer that liked to sing and meme around and seemed to have a drinking problem that she would joke about. So gawr(red) is telling gura (blue) to go back to her ways saying shes not good enough to be this big idol but gura likes this new life but no matter what she will neve rbe able to loose that past so she has to accept it

Just wanted to say that I think they're using some form of Byzantium (modern or ancient). How close a relationship it has with Greek I have NO idea.

Ancient Greek is the language. Its basically the oldest ancient language we have some pronunciation for IIRC. (Latin notwithstanding)

@@Animaniac0451 We have a pretty good idea what ancient Egyptian and Sumerian sounded like, both of which are significantly older than Greek.

8:41 I've always thought of "The Jaws Theme" as being sort of a rip-off of the opening portion of the fourth movement of Antonin Dviorak's "New World Symphony". Really, John Williams pretty much made a variation of the first few bars of that movement and wrote a theme for a mechaanical shark. So, it can be said that this opening portion of Gura's song "Reflect" was inspired by a 19th Century Czech composer.
