The amount of force it takes to pull the protection cap off is really high. I put some thin washers on the screw lands between the two halves of the cap and it works really smooth engaging the unit now.

So in your opinion, for a diy beginner, which one to buy UT116A or ut116c?

Both are good but I would choose the 116C because of the higher display count.

Hi Darren! Thank you for your review. I have the exact model but now it is malfunctioning. I have a blown resistor R15 and I am not able to find a schematic anywhere to find its value. If you still have this multimeter, can you please let me know the R15 value?

Thanks Darren for this awesome video , i have question , what differences between 116A and 116C what battery tester dos on 116C and is that really different between volt meters and battery meters ? what dos DCV on 116A do? thanks
@KeepOnTesting2 жыл бұрын
116C includes the battery load tester for testing batteries. That is the only difference, it just puts a small current load on the battery to detect a faulty or dying cell. 😃
@pault65337 ай бұрын
@@KeepOnTesting Unless it's hooked in reverse, then it reports the V as "-" and places no load on the cell. The load seems a bit high for small coin cells, it can really bring down the voltage in the forward direction.

Hi, does these tweezers have any technical or other benefits over a normal dmm, or it is just the handyness?

Much easier/faster to measure tiny smd components, tighter tolerances and being able to measure in circuit are some of the benefits.

I've never used a meter like this, but don't exposed leads make it really easy to inadvertently short something?
@KeepOnTesting4 жыл бұрын
You need to be careful but I don't think its really more disconcerting than using a standard test lead. The ends are incredibly pointy so its really easy to make contact with those smd components.
