ive been trying to adjust my u210e after cleaning up a battery leak, i couldn't really get it right, now i see why, my clamp has also cracked and the inner gap is not right and now also the ribbon broke, time to get a new one, thank you for this circuit analysis

I dropped mine into ship's bilge. after drying I couldn't get 2A DC measurement to work. it was always showing OL. at 20A range it showed 4.9A DC before pressing ZERO button. I found a solution. After pressing select and hold buttons simultaneously and meter on to OHM/continuity/diode position it enters self calibration mode. it takes a few minutes to calibrate but now it works well enough.

Thank you for this very informative video. Please allow me to ask you a question: Is it typical for DC clamp meters to have two Hall sensors in bridge? Or may cheaper DC meters have only one? I think of the Mustool mt866 also known as Bside ACM91, which, I suspect, is a UNI-T 211B clone with less protection (no MOVs). I can't decide which one to buy: the 210E or the Mustool MT866/BSIDE ACM91. Please help me decide. I want to measure mainly small DC and AC current.

Sorry, the UNI-T is the only clamp meter I have really examined. I would assume that 2 sensors make a lot of sense in compensating stray magnetic fields and/or "amplify" the common mode signal in a bridge configuration, but I cant state anything about how common they are

Hi friend,i have a problem with my meter and I think you are the most suitable person to solve it. In ac mode 2-20-100 A it stays 0 or close to 0 and does not measure current. In dc mode in all ranges, it is OL and zero button is not working, but everywhere else zero is working ok. But NCV mode is working ok when i approach close to cable with current,. I have check pcb board with microscope but i have not find anything

I am afraid something may be broken. I would check the ribbon cable from the sensors to the PCB. If those are fine your best choice is using the schematics and finding where the signal from the clamp is getting lost.

I am afraid that sounds like you blew part of your input protection. The MOVs or more likely one or more of the transistor pairs that act as limiters. You should also see that the meter shows a Ohm reading instead of "OL" when no probes are attached. There are places where you can download the schematics, for example: elektrotanya.com/uni-t_ut210e_schematic.pdf/download.html But to repair it, will require a bit of electronic & soldering skills (and another multimeter) to find the problem and replace the failed part(s). The UT210E is reasonably cheap, so you might want to consider replacing it. The Amp part probably still works, so you may want to consider just using it for that, and get a normal multi meter for ohms, volts ... I am curious, do you remember how that happened? Did you had it in Ohms and tried to measure mains AC for example? (By the way, my email is on the "about" page of my channel.)
