Picked up this 80s model Uniden Grant from an auction. The "golden screwdriver" had been taken to it.

Without a scope and the right equipment u can only do but so much to fix a cb radio. A signal tracer is the best thing to find major problems

Tr 24 is always clipped in every radio I ever worked on😂. That was copper catalogs fault when they started selling those golden screwdriver books . Cb trick books. 😂😂

I hooked up power backwards on my grant xl and it smoked. What state are you in if you could possibly fix it. The 2 coils melted off and the protection diode burned up. I am by Bowling Green, Kentucky. Thanks Steve

I eventually sent this one off for a complete rebuild...that is not the sort of work I do
