Hi, I just bought this 1993 Wrangler 6 Cyl. with a Freshley rebuilt engine. When I first got it, It ran supper rich, black smoke upon acceleration. rough idle, slight hesitation upon acceleration and loss of power from 2500 RPM & up. I found codes for TPS and MAP. Aso found his new Spark plugs Fuel fouled. Dry and black. Now, after I changed spark plugs, the MAP, IAC, TPS and Temp sensors It runs good. but I'm smelling something weird upon acceleration. the heavier I accelerate the worst the smell. Almost smell like fuel smell mixed with some kind of chemical smell. I can't figure out where its coming from. Any suggestions. Thanks...

Got the blower out, had two dead mice. Put everything back together and got a third smaller mouse caught in the blower so back to the drawing board, I've become an expert at blower removing in my '02 z06. Question, where is the air intake that they're crawling in from? How did you get rid of the smell of decaying mice?? By the way my blower was held in place by Torx screws, getting in there was like Yoga poses, luck I'm a thin guy!

The air comes in under the cowl on the RH side. It is almost impossible to get at. With the blower out, I use a shop vac to fully clean any debris....the only way to keep them out, is to periodically drive them, and keep mice bait traps in the garage

Hey man. I just thought I'd provide a little bit of information that I'm gained from my research back. A few years ago, my brother had a rear main seal leak in his jeep xj and we're like man. We don't wanna we don't wanna do the rear main seal... So I did a lot of research and came across the fact that the rear CCV orifice. Is typically too small. A diameter and the inline 6 gets high case pressure, which leads to oil being pushed out the rear main seal. So what I did? What we did is we put a big fat like half inch line coming out of that back orifice CCV. And it' stopped leaking. , so I'm just sharing that with you alright? Thank you.
@superb60ceАй бұрын
Yes they will overpressure, the fat line can mitigate it, but I have found that by doing old school PCV maintenance, IE replacing the orifices every 50k miles or so as well as the aft line, I have no problems

I had a TT with the same issue since it was outside in the cold in my carport during the winter, I had no need to send the instrument in, just gently heat up the display once out, sure you need to take the cluster apart, then sweep over the crystal area cross pattern where you know the pixel issue is, with some low heat applied, resolved, 1000$ for such a fix, not even if the display is messed up, those are not that expensive to replace, and yes, always disconnect the battery and leave it idle for at least 15 minutes before you disconnect any instrument cluster connectors, common practice for legit workshops
