One of the best in Radar detection. No radar detector will alert you in time for Laser. If it goes off it's usually too late and you have been nailed. If you want laser protection, get some laser jammers.

Right at the bottom of a hill with open road; seems like a better decision to run LIDAR instead of radar there.

Somehow I missed this comment. I run KA wide just to be safe. It is recommended to run wide to get a sense of what is used in your area and see whether they all fall into the Narrow range or the usual Ka segments.

He's trying to be sneaky for people with radar detectors like me and turn it on at the last second so the detector doesn't pick it up. That's why the R7 is so awesome. It picked up the radar bounce from him hitting another vehicle before me.

@@andrewlange7195 Some states use the Spectre system to detect them. Avoid by purchasing a radar detector that has been tested with a Spectre and proved to be stealth.

@@andrewlange7195 yes they do have tools for that but like the r3 can't be detected by it that's the only one that has full immunity which is great for places your not allowed radar detectors. The r7 has it to and it's fairly good but at around the 100 meter mark they can see it.

@@andrewlange7195 as I know they use radar detector detectors only in states where detectors are prohibited (Virginia and DC), but you still can avoid it buying undetectable radar detector like Escort Redline... I used to have one and drove through VA state but I did hide it so cops can't see it. I even took off windshield mount cause if they see one they can search your vehicle for RD and seize it if they find it.
