A mysterious object was captured on video soaring close to the SpaceX Crew Dragon shortly after the astronauts left earth Friday morning. Sources say it could be ice from liquid oxygen in the rocket.

At 0:38, you can see an object leave to the right after the separation. Also, that isn't a piece of "Ice". I see symmetry and identical markings as the object rotates. It's most definitely not foreign, but why the shot shows an object leaving a few seconds after the time I marked and then potentially the same object reappearing out of control, is beyond me.

@velveetaslingshot

Its not the government. The media knows that anything with "ufo" gets clicks. Same reason the history channel went ufo nuts. It sells. Its been selling since 1947. And still not one piece of tangible evidence to end the debate.

@@velveetaslingshot no the government aren’t releasing it. But they are confirming there’s ufos that we dk how they move or what they do. And that the footage is real. Are you just blacking that bit out or is this theologically motivated? Bc Obama just said ufos are real. Not aliens. So I just think you’re being a tiny bit closed minded. You’re dismissing footage, military personnel? I’m practical asf most of the time but even I can see just bc a world view is being questioned doesn’t mean it’s fake. It just more answers. We used to think we were the center of the universe and people laughed when the fact was otherwise. Bc it questioned their world view. People still believe it’s flat lol

You should read about the late 40s "foo fighters" military pilots would be chased by and kind of toyed with by objects making impossible maneuvers, they knew they weren't really doing anything to them and seemed harmless but they said it felt like they were just being messed with, whenever they got back to base they would let the next pilot know that the foo fighters are back out there so be aware

@@strategicthinker8899 Please explain then. I have a degree in computer science. I understand the need to deal with the size of data streaming back and forth, 4k is almost 4 times the size of 1080 per frame, about 6x the size of 720. More data means more latency and higher bandwidth channels are needed, and more space required for storage onboard. But... A single star link connection can stream 4x 4k streams flawlessly, Linus Tech showed us that (look up the review). So can space-x really not stream 4k back from space (vs star link having to go to space, and then back to earth, around twice the distance)? The idea that space-x can stream 4k for it's star link customers with less than 69ms pings, but not for it's dragon capsule seems unlikely. So if latency isn't the issue, storage size isn't the issue (1tb nvme chips are not even that much), what is the problem?
@martonkovacs8172
@martonkovacs8172 3 жыл бұрын
@@heyaisdabomb I'm assuming it's most probably due to that bandwidth being mainly used to transmit valuable flight data to mission control. I'd say it's the same reason Perseverance didn't transmit 4k imagery while landing on Mars, the limited bandwidth has more valuable uses than using it to stream 4k live streams to launches that usually don't have a lot of viewers in general. The cameras are in fact high resolution and there are plenty of videos on SpaceX's channel which are high resolution such as the pad abort test for Dragon which are simply downloaded post flight. I'm guessing it would be expensive to increase the streaming bandwidth on a vehicle which is designed to be cheap to launch and having a 4k stream is not enough of a reason to justify it financially. I'm not an expert in data sciences but I'm assuming the real reason is probably close to this.

The rocket doesn’t have to be traveling in the direction it’s pointing. That’s the thing with traveling in a vacuum; normal atmospheric restrictions such as friction and wind resistance stops being relevant. So they could easily have gone into orbit, lost some orbit, slowed down and turned 90 degrees and then been caught up to by this piece of ice. Probably also the most likely theory, as both object would’ve been on the same trajectory entering space.

I know I’m late to this but orbital mechanics is weird, it is one of the hardest concepts in rocketry. When you slow down in orbit, you than speed up. And when you speed up, you then slow down. If you throw a ball directly behind you in orbit, a little while later it will come back going in the opposite direction relative to you. Point being this is 100% from the rocket, and just because you understand how stuff works down here, doesn’t mean you understand it up there.

There's no way that was ice from the rocket. Firstly, that object came from about 80 degrees to the right side of the vehicle. There is no portion of the rocket in the direction it came from. If it had come from the front portion of the vehicle and travelled straight back, it could have been from the rocket. If it had arrived just 4 seconds earlier, the outcome would have been quite different. We might have had a tragedy occur that day.
