This was a top 10 in the R&B chart in 1983 and Dont Disturb this Groove No4 in 1987 amongst other hits so I wouldnt say they were underrated in those circles, that was quite an achievement back then as the standard was very high unlike today. Most black artists and music of that genre and era was underrated and still is.

Frank's layering and orchestration kills it. I learned the importance of note quantification from the drum track on this song. I could not for the life of me at first figure out how he was doing tight ass roll on the hi-hat. Then I pumped it up to 32 notes per and like magic I did it. I did that on a Yamaha DX-11 and I still have the data files from that moment today. I could also talk all day about Mic's clean AF tenor. My god! The man's voice is flawless. I don't think I ever heard him move into falsetto even once in all the music he's sang to. Just pure tenor. Love these guys!

Talk about a blast from the past. I swear on everything, no other generation had better music than the 80s. Everytime I listen to an 80s song, it's an instant flashback of my childhood growing up in the 80s.

Too late. People, sounds and preferences have, unfortunately, forever changed. Still, nothing wrong with wishing. 😢

I don't know why people are calling this an under rated group. It was very popular on the R&B charts!
