I was twenty years old, living on my own for the first time, and had just moved to a small city and taken up a position as a telemarketer in a call center, selling magazines (buy these four magazines for a five year subscription, save money - what do you mean you aren't interested? Of course, you're interested) on an autodialing telephone system. This song played on the office Muzak probably five times a day, along with a lot of stuff by Michael Bolton, Paula Abdul, etc. I think I lasted there maybe three days before I fled.
