I was just in the hospital for severe constipation. I had been in panic and tears. I didn’t quite understand fiber and obviously I hadn’t been eating any at all. I just went through so much pain in my intestines and I’m still sore. One of the worst things Iv ever experienced. I learned my lesson. I never want to go through that ever again.

thank you for the informative video very much helpful but i have a question , in the sense of insoluble fiber is sugarcane also a source for insoluble fibers?
@iHealthLabsUS11 ай бұрын
Sugar cane mainly contains insoluble fiber. However, it's worth noting that the amount of fiber in sugar cane is relatively low compared to other high-fiber foods. So, get a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes in your diet! 🥬🍅

If soluble fiber traps cholesterol from entering into the bloodstream, does that mean that the gel it forms itself doesn't enter into the bloodstream also? And what about the gelatin from animal material, like bone broth?
@iHealthLabsUS11 ай бұрын
The soluble fiber gel doesn't enter the bloodstream; it passes through the digestive system. Unlike the soluble fiber gel, gelatin from animal material can be broken down 😄

Q: >>> Do we digest/transform fibers into sugars? - I understood that fibers are actually also considered carbs. - But we don't digest fibers, right!? So if we want to help someone to go low carb, to lower blood-sugar and insuline... Could we use lower carb (=higher fibers) bread??? (Since my old stubborn mother doesn't want to stop eating bread...)

please correct me if i am wrong: soluble fiber: acts as a gel that pushes stool out insoluble fiber: add bulk of stool

I heard that soluble fiber and insoluble fiber both absorb water but soluble.fiber dissolves in water, is this true that insolublenfiber does not absorb water?

i find this so confusing... fiber really messes up my digestion... i'll be farting all day long
@OkaydenMusic2 ай бұрын
This is typically only the case when you have a sudden switch to increased fiber. Your gut’s microbiome isn’t optimized for breaking it down since non-fiber consuming bacteria are much more prevalent, and the fiber-consuming populations are lower. You need to give it a couple weeks for the ‘bad’ bacteria (ones that don’t improve health and feed on unhealthy food) to diet off and the ‘good’ bacteria (the ones who feed on whole plant foods) to increase in population. There are exceptions to this since everyone is different, but this is generally the case.
@zentzu40032 ай бұрын
@@OkaydenMusic I had the opposite experience, to begin with nothing no extra farts but it was like my gut microbiome adapting and actually then started producing more and more to the point I am literally farting 20 horrednous farts an hour

ok... so people should get between 21 and 38 grams of fiber daily. but you left out how much of each type is recommended.
@caelanjb9 ай бұрын
It doesn’t really matter what kind. As of now there are no specific recommendations, just eat a combination
