I think there is a fine difference between Uniform Civil code and Common civil code. I have heard Prof Faizan Mustafa on the subject and he has explained the difference beautifully. Common civil code is across the sections of the society but Uniform civil code refers to uniformity in civil codes withing a section of the society.
