I remember the silent intro at 8:23 from the American version of the original "Mad Max" in the theatre. One of their last. When I was a kid and I saw / heard these intros coming on TV (usually late at night), I always knew I was in for a treat.

The silent intro was also seen in the 1979 original The Amityville Horror

AIP was the total deal ! I wanted to work for them (dream job) instead I owned some theaters and exhibited a lot of their films. The clouds logo was my fave.

Additional info: The music for the logos from 0:00 to 0:41 are written by Ronald Stein. The music from 0:50 to 2:05 is by Albert Glasser.

Well done research on your part. You even include the A.I.T. versions. Love that "Invasion Of The Saucermen" finale.

The "Dunwich Horror" logo is from the Midnight Movies Double Feature DVD release of Dunwich along with "Die Monster Die." "Gamera vs Monster X" is from the Retromedia DVD paired with "Monster from a Prehistoric Planet." I think that one is out of print.

A little history of aip. James h Nicholson sold out to Sam Arkoff in '71, Arkoff sold AIP to Filmways in '79, Orion bought Filmways in '83, Orion went bankrupt, were sold to Metromedia who then sold Orion to MGM. So the AIP catalogue is now part of MGM.

Beautiful collection! Ten AIP titles (most notably Amazing Colossal Man, I Was a Teenage Werewolf/Frankenstein, It Conquered the World, and Invasion of the Saucer Men) are held by Nicholson's widow, Susan Hart, who hasn't released them since the days of VHS for whatever reason. Godzilla vs the Smog Monster has a unique use of the AIP logo (laid over opening shots of factory pollutants!), but that version is likewise in a copyright no-man's land, replaced on DVD by Toho's own English version.

I think you missed a TV logo. It's one the looks like the logo for Associated Press(AP). I remember seeing it on a TV print of Food of The Gods a few years ago.

3:09 = my only guess is that it could be a last-second rehash of the company's very first logo from the early 50's -when they were incorpotated as a movie distributor, according to the Closing Logos Group-

The best film AIP made was Bobbie Jo and The Outlaw (1976). an action drama which featured one of the most beautiful female celebrities to ever be discovered by anyone in showbiz (namely Lynda Carter.) The worst one they commissioned was Some of My Best Friends Are...(1971), a tale about gays.

May I ask, what are the sources for the Dunwich Horror and Gamera vs Monster X samples? For example, is the second one from Shout Factory's Gamera vs Jiger DVD, or some other source? I'd really like to find those two in particular.
