Cool phone! I prefer iPhone-esque flat sides I prefer larger displays I like the lights on the back... Kinda hoping that Nothing will acquire this company and incorporate a lot of these features in Nothing Phone 3. Nice job, Unihertz!

If youre into mobile gaming then the Luna is definitely NOT worth considering. The Helio G99 chip is a low midrange SoC. Youd have to be happy if newer, graphically demanding games run smoothly in low details. This is clearly shown by both benchmarks and practice. Daytime photos are okay for the price. Unfortunately low light sensitivity and bad postprocessing tend to ruin smaller details. And once weather gets bad or the evening approaches, the photo quality rapidly deteriorates. Night photos are really bad, even with the dedicated night mode. I really wonder why this review only includes daytime photos. The backside LEDs are nice and fun, but they dont offer a lot in terms of features of practical value (that you would use often). Also keep in mind that this phone is REALLY big and REALLY heavy (300g). That makes it a suboptimal choice in terms of ergonomics. Add to that the bad update policy. Unihertz promises one year of security updates (bi-annually = 2 updates in total) and currently has no plans to even upgrade it from Android 12 to Android 13. Yes, I asked. Except for the LEDs this phone is no competition for the Nothing Phone 1. And unless you really want the backside LEDs there are plenty better options in that price range. Im stunned how misrepresenting this video review is.

You know how they say: "Every product finds its customer". Let's be realistic, for that money, you simply won't find a smartphone with a "light show" anywhere in the world, and that alone makes it special and unique. Helio G99 will be enough for most users, who want something better and faster with guaranteed upgrades, should spend 600-800-1000 dollars for a Samsung or some gaming phone, not $300, which is what this phone costs. Buyers of this phone are aware of this, they are not ignorant.

@@GSMaholic There are decidedly better phones for gaming in the 300 EUR segment than this phone. And also phones with better camera (tho if Unihertz works on the postprocessing that might change). The lightshow is a derivate of the Nothing phone and its a nice feature, not denying that. But its also the only unique selling point of the device and one that hardly offers any use in day to day use. Having it blink to music or work as a "cheap Ambilight" is fun for a bit but ultimately not a realistic reason for most people for buying that phone. There is probably a niche audience, but from a general point of view this phone is kinda disappointing overall. I wish it weren't so cause Im a fan of device that try something unique. But nailing a fancy feature and not properly delivering on the basics really kills the value.

would have probably bought this phone, but since it doesnt have an OLED display so nothing phone 1 won in the end

The problem with all these small brands is that it only exists to order online. When it comes to phones I want it from a store that I can send it back to if there is issues for guarantees. I had the Atom L and I liked it but the main camera just disappeared so I sent it back just hoping I wouldn't get screwed. I can buy the Nothing Phone in at least one real store buy not Unihertz.
