Unimat SL1000 Parting Unknownium Steel

i parted some poorly machinable 3/8" steel on the unimat sl1000 just to see how she acted.

hi , what are the specs of the motor ?

90watts is the output, if I’m not mistaken. It runs on 115VAC. In different belt configurations the spindle can achieve around 6,000 rpm, although i never would turn anything that fast. I did use the spindle at around 3,400 rpm for a small diameter carbide endmill while in the milling configuration
