Unintentional String Winder Shootout: Free One Wins

This video is really for me to get back into the swing of making regular videos and to test the lighting in my sound recording room/office. I've line up the walls with sound deadening also, and wanted to get a sense of the sound in the room.
For those actually wondering about the string winders:
Blue one: Music Nomad

I'm digging the 10 sillymeters nut thing-a-ma-bopper... I'm gearing up for an epic string winder build... Good to see what's important. I cut out a 5 minute segment of chatter on string winders in a video that will be dropping some day soon... Seems like most of them want to be everything to everyone. I want one that just does guitars and another that just does 4 strings bass guitars. This was some good insight.

I have a stack of string winders that have accumulated over the years. One of my favorites is an old Dean Markley "Professional Turbotune." Has a bridge pin puller (that actually works) and comes apart to allow the winding head to be used with a cordless screwdriver/hand drill if that is your preference.

I've honestly never seen locking tuners on a acoustic before, I always wondered why because they're so great, do acoustic players not like tuning stability and quick strings changes?

I have the same D’Addario one you have and the trouble with mine, is every time I use the string winder the screw use to come out so I hade to use cocktail sausage stick to wedge in the screw now it’s very wobbly. Would be great string winder only for this problem any sud gestures or easy fix be much appreciated thanks

Gibson strings are made by Ernie Ball. D’Addario are nice but not packed individually and have to match colors is a pain. I only use Elixir Coated strings, not because of individually packed but because uncoated strings turn my fingers black. It’s my hands not the strings. Elixirs seem to last longer and I’ve used every brand ever made. EB makes some really nice coated strings, probably my second favorite then ClearTone. Amazon Prime $9.79 for electric 10-46 Elixirs and $11.99 for 12-53 Elixir is fine by me. Nice Gibson acoustic by the way.

I always cut my strings the same way. I never understood people that cut them in the middle.
