ILA members can call out anytime, they have side businesses, they do whatever the hell they want and they are many times inept at their jobs. Unions have been a socialistic organization since their inception, RIGHT TO WORK states did it right, like Reagan said, "be at your workplace tomorrow at the appointed time or you are fired" then fire the bastards and bust the union stranglehold on all things they are involved in including the GOVERNMENT EMPLOYEES UNION.

A few years ago there was riots in the city and a lot of the elderly people used to go to the league to get together and have dinner together. They are now scared to come out in the evening because of all the crime. Years ago it was one of the safest neighborhoods. My family has owned a restaurant in little Italy for over 50 years and now all of the restaurants are in trouble because people are just scared coming in the city and it’s just so heartbreaking. The highlight of my year was going to the Italian festival every year. Our former District Attorney announced that they will not prosecute anyone under the age of 18 because it could potentially affect their life and now teenage crime is up 300 percent. Car theft and car jacking is up 600 percent. The crime rates where previously high but, it was not happening in Little Italy. The police don’t even have the control and also they are not enough police officers anymore.

I’m a Union Boilermaker who works in building and maintenance of the huge boilers that the country needs to make the electricity that powers the country, and also work inside refineries, chemical plants, and steel mills too. An I know/feel that unions are still needed in places like the construction industry because of their ability to keep the workers safe and free from reprisals for calling out something that is unsafe. I’m sure the Dockworkers need a union to for the same reason, but that International President is doing more harm then good. It’s clowns like him that make all of us hardworking union members look bad. We work really hard jobs in a dangerous industry that we know is dangerous and shortens our life span’s because of the risk we take and the chemicals including nuclear fueled boilers. An I believe we should be compensated for that, and I don’t think I’m wrong for wanting that. Found out I had an abdominal aortic aneurysm and had 2 more medications. Had asthma and allergies 3 more medications. Back and neck herniations more medications. Started to take matters into my own hands In the past 7 years I started to read labels. Changed the foods I eat and committed my life to God and Jesus. No more processed and ultra processed foods. Make my own bread. Cook fresh veggies from the farmers market. Minimize gluten. Meats that are grass fed and use herbs to make healthy wellness teas and use herbs and make drinks that are anti inflammatory. Walk twice a day if I can. I lost a size in clothes. no more aneurysm which is a miracle in itself. Only on one diabetic med. one asthma preventative but no more steroids and 1 pain med. it totally transformed my life and took tears off my aging process. Our system is built to keep us sick and the pharma companies rich. It’s the same for politics you have to start doing your research and make smarter decisions. Americans have become too complacent. Our strike clause was void due to new contract expiration these companies had two years to negotiate with us they waited and we went on strike simple

That’s what happens when people “don’t agree with going on strike” granite you all legally can’t, but that didn’t stop them in the past, under the threat of arrest they still went on strike.
@panderson95613 ай бұрын
Yeah, but, that goes on every contract cycle with the USPS. When a contract is, eventually, agreed to and signed, you'll get back pay for any pay raises agreed to in that contract. It's really not a big deal.
@Unrealenting3 ай бұрын
@@panderson9561 It’s big enough deal for ups and dockworkers to strike, it’s called setting the tone, not being jerked around. It’s a big deal but hey “you get back pay a few years later while facing hardships month to month pending on a new contract” moron

That Lawrence ricci that was left in the trunk of a car at a union diner. That diner was right around the corner from al cernadas house. Al cernadas back then was the ila union president for local 1235 and was also under indictment around that time.

Unions had a place early in history. It’s a big racket now. When these salaries doubles, it won’t cost the companies one cent. They’ll simply pass those extra costs to consumers.
@jaseallenson3163 ай бұрын
They arent really looking to double salaries. Thats just starting point in negotiations. And unions still should hold a place now. Of course, there is some bad that comes out of it but the good outweighs it. And by you reasoning, i hope you think we should get rid of all govt, and many of the massive industries(oil, health care, pharmacueticals etc), because they are all rackets as well.
@bonzocleach24963 ай бұрын
You're a silly person. Go ahead and work for less so that the cost of your salary doesn't get passed on to consumers. It's funny how your logic NEVER applies to CEO's.

If cost of living goes up, that’s when you ask your employer for a raise. Stop hating poor people and the working class.

I have no beef with the average union worker, but when union bosses get paid so much and live a life of luxury just to keep the membership stirred up and at odds with the company, that isn't right. Those union bosses don't give a flip about the union workers, they just want to make sure those dues keep flowing in to support their lifestyle.

@@m16ty I mean we all fight for self preservation, it’s a natural instinct. However when you have a hoarder, billionaire class vs actual working class, I’m always siding with the workers even if their requests seem extreme. That’s how negotiations work, you ask for more because otherwise you have no room for compromise. Second, you’re negotiating for the future, you’re speculating because otherwise you’ll be negotiating or on strike every six months. I’ll also add cost-of-living being extreme as it is in most of the country 200 K a year isn’t what it was even 10 years ago. Let’s be realistic. So yes, the head of the union will make more than the actual workers of the union. Similar to the owner and upper management makes more than the head of the union. They are taking on more risk they’re in the public eye. They’re going to be the ones that are scrutinized for standing up for the workers even when they have to be tough. If you’re seriously concerned about price gouging and cost of good increase, why are you not upset at how much the billionaires are hoarding?? Finally, if any of these union heads or union workers, have a nice home or a nice car, are they not allowed to have nice things? Possibly they made some good investments, maybe they got an inheritance, maybe it’s none of your fckn business?? Idk. Y’all’s energy is pointed at the wrong people.
