I have worked in public health in India with various agencies and now with the ministry, whatever she is saying about nutrition has been true regarding lack of standardization and even understanding the ethnic differences for wasting & stunting. Women & Child health receives over 70% of the annual health budget in most states.. Regarding menstrual leave policy also she has current projection. I give you a real life example which Manoj jha cited; I worked for dept of health in Bihar, they had provision for menstrual leave but when I asked why my female colleague (who was having difficult cycles) didn't use these leaves, she said the exact same thing:" mam I don't want to let people know when I bleed"
