Have you read Andy's book. If not, it is very good. I know that Andy won't be back, and I know why. It takes 5 to tango, so to say, and there were other reasons other than Andy being difficult. It is a very good book, and I feel for Andy because there are many issues in his life that he is working on. I wish him the best. I have always loved his style, and seeing him live blew me away.
@lovelynurse200012 жыл бұрын
I agree. Saw them live in Columbus OH for the first (and only) time, and was BLOWN AWAY by Andy Taylor. His sound is unique, his sound IS Duran Duran. I have been a fan for 30 years, but I have no desire to see them live without Andy. I still LOVE them, but they are missing something without Andy.

Yeah, I agree with you there. But when it gets to the point where you feel you can't work with your friend and bandmate anymore that's when you know you have to let that person go before it really becomes more problematic than it needs to be.

I totally agree man! No Andy Taylor NO Duran Duran for me! It`s just not DD anymore, no matter what guitarplayer they choose to replace him. Banda Duran Duran considero a banda Mais Humilde do Mundo! Seus clips não tem mansões, carros de luxo, ouro, camisa do Corinthians...e sim..vejo clip deles em lugares tipo mato..selva..elefantes... enfim..coisas simples e natural. Extremamente Abençoados..Mas a Potência e qualidade...

Well, you're going to be waiting for a long time because I read an article that had a statement from that was on DD's website that said that they have severed all personal and professional ties with Andy because they felt that he was becoming increasingly difficult to work with. Nice way of saying Andy didn't want to do the work anymore.

Yeah! I heard that Nick came down with a virus. John said that Simon lost his voice last year and that was when he started writing his memoires. I almost went to his book signing at Indigos in Toronto last month but with the onset of the hurricane hitting Toronto I was afraid that I would be stuck there with no way of getting home. From what I understand the place was packed full of fans and I probably wouldn't have gotten anywhere close to him anyways. I've been a Duranie for a long time..

500 word limit I think I was 10 when Duran Duran really got famous in 1986 and two of the three unrelated Taylors were gone. Andy and Roger. It's good that Andy and Roger agreed to do this because the other drummers that DD had just didn't have the same amount edginess that Roger has. But I was sad to see Andy go again and over something as stupid as what direction to take the music in.
@CelesteK12 жыл бұрын
I agree with you. Getting Andy and Roger back was the right thing but I think Andy seemed to be a tad tempermental and in the end he seemed a bit ungrateful for the opportunity to get back together with his band. :(
@yadek813 жыл бұрын
Sure DD always sounded great live... cos there are real musicians in the band, and Simon really sings... Not like some bands like Coldplay that really sucks performing live.. those guys are nothing outside the studio walls, really boring sound playing live. Long live Duran Duran !

I really enjoyed seeing Andy with them at the concert I went to. It was around the time his father passed and I wasn't sure that I would get to see him. I have sympathy for him, he has went through a lot. Dom is good, but there was something magical with all of them together. I still love them, have since I was 10, and always will. I just hate that they could not make it work, but life happens.

This video is from the Astronaut reunion tour a few years back where Andy and Roger Taylor both returned to the band. Since then Andy has again left and Dom Brown plays guitar for them. Roger Taylor stayed with the band and is currently touring with them.
