Super happy I was able to help so much! It's awesome to have another wonderful documentary on my beloved 618
@wkjeeping9053 Жыл бұрын
I worked for the Heber valley railroad from 1998-2002. I've been through that boiler and Firebox so many times, I still remember what they look like inside. When your the skinniest person there at that time, you get into a lot of small spaces. I was even a fireman for the railroad. It was still coal burning loco at that moment.

What a saga! As an aside, it seems odd, from today's standpoint, how often Union Pacific shopped Baldwin in the first two decades of the twentieth century. They were a long way from the Alco road that they became.
@TrainGuru Жыл бұрын
Agree. Those two overhauls really bought the engine a lot of time.

Have they stopped working on the 618?
@benmoore22537 ай бұрын
@@dainallison4275 No. it should be stated, work is slow, but not at a stop. At least not reportedly. It all has to do with donations and available man hours, as oil conversions are a tad more expensive than the average restoration

Also, ticket sales help fund their projects. It’s great that the Heber Valley railroad has a lot of cars for more passengers, a lot of staff (including who seem to be high school students), and a wide variety of special themed trains. The more ticket sales, the more money can go to 618.
