Im so glad they reunited 4014 and her original whistle for this run. Yes, Ed said it himself, that whistle 844 has worn simce 2012 is 4014's original she wore in service.

I wish I could see it again this year, but the Northwest Tour was canceled. I live in California and Roseville, California was where it would be Displayed.

Is it just my imagination, or does it look like the train's consist has been "wrapped", (like the car guy's do), but in this case...to prevent oxidation of the paint ON these cars? Not a problem and I get it, (if so). Keep the livery alive!!!

Is the shield on the side of 4015 at 2:07 supposed the be a reference to Big Boy 4015? I've never seen a shield like that before.
@connorpack37352 жыл бұрын
Yup. 4015 has been permanently assigned to the Steam Team as their road diesel, so they put a little steam tribute on it.

Was 4014 really doing the pulling or was it in "neutral" and letting the diesel do all the work "behind the scenes"?
@NotGavin Жыл бұрын
It was pulling, the diesels are there incase anything happens, and it can no longer pull.
@Goldscare Жыл бұрын
The diesel 4015 is a backup / support cart, it provides clean electrical power and other essentials while "Big Boy" 4014 pulls the tonnage.

Nick, did it ever seem like the diesel was doing much of the work?

@@texasandpacific610 they have the option, but the chances of that happening aren’t that likely. 5511 is especially not good for high speed excursion service.

To the original question in this thread, 844 has technically seen far more service then the 4014 has, it’s just that Uncle Pete’s gonna milk the publicity of the 4014 as much as they can before using the 844 more frequently again.
