Air compressor coming on
@ConductorDon3 жыл бұрын
Its the air compressor kicking on. It only sounds like that on GE locomotives.

@@cottydry What does the air compressor do? i.e. What function does it have in running a train? Who controls the air compressor or is it automatic? Thanks.

Okay I'm just had to watch this video twice I only saw one man come out of that engine now was it just an engineer or a conductor crew change or did my eyes deceive me and that was a one-man crew on that train now I have seen sometimes crew members change trains but I never saw just one man come out of an engine like that just was curious

How difficult is it to become a train conductor for UP?
@williamphillip97493 жыл бұрын
I was a conductor at UP for 10 years just recently resigned and went to a short line railroad. As long as you have a clean record and can pass a drug test and tell them whatever they want to hear in the interview you can get the job. The test can be difficult and people will not make it through so just study. The hardest part is the lifestyle and dealing with being furloughed or possibly lose your job to technology. I was furloughed after 10 years and it wasn’t fun. You will be on call 24/7 and most likely will miss every important thing going on in your personal life.

A one man crew? There's been a lot of talk about it.
@williamphillip97493 жыл бұрын
Not yet it’s only talk and the carrier’s don’t have that yet and will be hard for them to get it especially in highly populated areas
