"Out in the west Texas town of El Paso, I fell in love with a Mexican girl" everything I hear something about El Paso, that exact song comes to mind. Thanks again for another great upload.

Another excellent video. The Morenci mine footage was a real bonus. I find the nothingness of the desert captivating.

Loved part 2, I am an El Paso native and lived there from 1972 to 1996 with a short break from '75 to '79 when my family moved to Paris France for my dad's job. I moved to Memphis in '96 and have been here ever since. This video kinda made me a little homesick, I do still miss the desert and the excellent Mexican food from home. I still have high school friends there and a buddy that is a road engineer on the UP and runs between El Paso and Pecos Texas. Great videos BTW second to none, keep up the excellent work!

@@jeffsullivan3101 thank you! There is something alluring about the desert country. I try to include it in my pictures.

If Part 1 was good, Part 2 was incredible! The segment on Clifton/Morenci... very informative. Being from Las Cruces and now living in southeastern Arizona i know all points in between. And yet I learned so much in this two part series. Thank you! Well done.

I love these videos. The quality is fantastic! Being on the other side of the planet, this is the only way I can enjoy the big time US railroading. I do have a couple of questions though. At 19:36 in the video, there looks to be some sort of nest on the top platform of the signal mast. Is that what it is? If so, what sort of bird (if you know)? Secondly, in Santa Teresa you talk about East fuel and West fuel... but how are the DPUs fueled? Do they pull the train forward and stop again when the DPU power is located at the east or west end fueling rigs?

Really excellent video! Tiny correction at t=24mins; the AZER have 13 (not 14) B40-8Ws.... and a B39-8.

I understand why, but it is sometimes disconcerting when the consistency is different in the various locations. In the late '80s, I hauled several loads of copper cathodes from the smelter to El Paso with Swift Transportation.

UP’s math doesn’t work out. If the Santa Teresa facility is 12 miles long and a mile wide, that works out to almost 7600 acres. Not 2200.

Ain't Steins pronounced St-Eye-Ns?
@7ideaproductions2 күн бұрын
Good question! You would think so by the spelling. I did at first. However it was named for a US Army Major Enoch Steen. "Steen's Pass" was sometimes spelled Steins, as it is on railroad timetables.

@@7ideaproductions I'm thinking of Richard Steinheimer, and thought that would be the way it's pronounced. I enjoyed the program greatly by the way. Shows how much stuff has changed since the SP days
