I shot this train on Oct 20 2010, off of the US 90 fwy in Beaumont, TX. This train was heading toward Houston, TX.

Oh my, I know right where this is at. I use to live in Beaumont at Raintree Towers. I have seen military vehicles for the U.N. being transported there several years ago. They are preparing for Marshal Law take over.

Happy: I see thousands of gallons of diesel fuel NOT being burned to convoy those truck to wherever they are going. Fuel savings on just a quarter of those trucks would easily pay the Union Pacific freight bill.

Ft Polk is always moving equipment this way to Ft Irwin in California. Its how they mobilize to NTC for desert training. Sometimes the KCS moves as many as four trains worth of equipment ( back when 5th ID was there) but now, mostly Bradleys and such, about two trains worth moving west.

The movement of military equipment by rail is not new. Military equipment has been moved by rail since before the ACW (American Civil War). What is new, is the volume of movements.
