The best review of this car, I have seen, by far. Great job. I love this car. Genesis as a brand, has come so far, so fast. I'm very impressed.

Great review, thank you. So you would buy this over the 2022 Lexus ES350?

Great, intelligent, insightful, content. Love the Engineering perspective. Would love more detail on Kaizen, using the scientific method, continuous improvement, to produce many products of superior quality with no defects. This philosophy can be valuable and applied so many disciplines. Everyone can improve their work product and standard of living by understanding simple tools to get it right the first time. You could be the most valuable resource to young people on KZbin. Please consider. Thanks!

Thank you so much for your kind words! Yes Kaizen methods can literally change people's lives.... so I'm a huge believer and practitioner of Kaizen and will definitely talk about this more in the future videos.

David, Thanks for the fascinating perspective. Only time will tell if Genesis matches the QDR of established brands.

You're welcome! So far, their durability has been very good but yes, we will know in 10 years if it stays that way

There is no GS anymore so it's automatically better than Lexus in this case.

Very much enjoyed this, I'm infatuated with this car. I've heard talk about the suggested tire pressure bring too low for a vehicle this heavy, one person even stated to work tires into the deal of sale.

Love this David! Genesis build quality is leagues above Hyundai and Kia. I was floored with the GV80... suspension had too much dive and teetering in my experience... outstanding otherwise.

David, 1 day later, at the Chengdu International Auto Show in China, Great Wall Motor from Baoding, Hebei will launch the Tank 400 series of off-road vehicles with looks copied from the Toyota 4Runner. fans of Toyota in China are disappointed with Toyota's inaction in the Chinese pickup and Off-Road Vehicle market.

Wow those copies are pathetic.

Like the Japanese manufacturers early on, the Korean are good at stealing or borrowing from other manufacturers R&D, but if they have to incorporate new, as of yer unproven or unperfected technology, they will be wanting. I recently took a test-drive in a Genesis G80, and had a strange experience, with severe vibrations coming through steering wheel, as though lighter a wheel was defective or something in the steering mechanism was damaged and ended to be replaced. I informed the sales rep of such and advised that they should not permit the vehicle to be taken on the road. Because Genesis vehicles are heavier that other brands, as they do not incorporate carbon fiber and aluminum the way other luxury vehicles do, stopping takes significantly longer, at least in the vehicles I tested and gas mileage suffers.
@AutomotivePress3 жыл бұрын
I wonder what caused the strange vibration... was the lane-centering feature malfunctioning? (this make the steering vibrate when going away from the lanes). It's hard to also figure out whether the problem was car company's defect or if something was damaged during shipping or during dealer's management of the vehicle. I will be curious to find out exactly what caused it.
@trith722 жыл бұрын
It sounds like you misinterpreted the LKA for a vibration. If LKA is set to maximum and you don't signal your lane changes it will almost fight your steering input to keep you from drifting. Short of that, I've never driven a vehicle with a more fluid and smooth steering than the Genesis g80. It's like steering through air.

I wish Genesis could engineer something to make a North American license plate integrate enter with the front grille… 😕
