That’s a lot of sports car models for one maker. GR Supra, 86, Corolla & Yaris plus MR2 and now a Celica.

@toytech520113 сағат бұрын
The GR Corolla is $50,000-$60,000 Cdn , this would start probably around $65,000. That would put it in GR Supra range, unless they discontinue the Supra🤔 Also would like to see a FWD version for us poor middle class people just like the 4th and 5th generations when I started wrenching for Toyota.

I had 2002 Toyota Celica and absolutely loved it! Bravo to Toyota for keeping cars and niche ones at that!

I still love my 7th Gen GT. But I'm in my mid 30's and just sad this didn't happen 10 years ago. my relationship with the 7th gen is complicated. it's so unbelievably slow, but it handles so well in the mountains that evry time I drive it I love it all over again. I've been trying to get myself to part with it for years now, but I just can't. its frustrating really.

Yesssss!!! AWESOME News!!!! I still remember the 1st generation od the Celicas…… late 80’s and early 90’s which was the one that I like the most… You are awesome sir!!! Thank you for your hard work always sharing the best information since you are japanese and speak the language! That’s a huge blessing! I wish I could speak it too! And Thank you for your hard work and sacrifice traveling to Japan to take the factory tours and collecting the information DIRECTLY from the sources, like Toyota, Lexus and others…. I can’t wait to see and hear what you are going to share with us regarding to your next visit to the Tahara Plant, at Aichi, Japan for the Lexus IS500 (that I bought it), and other models like the 4Runner, Lexus GX550, etc… God Bless You!!!

David, I noticed in the owners manual of the Tacoma, they recommend 87 octane, while the Land Cruiser the owners manual recommends 91 octane. I do believe the powertrains are exactly the same with the exact same power output on the Tacoma Hybrid and the Land Cruiser. Any idea why that is?

Honestly, not bringing Celica back as BEV on a dedicated EV platform is a HUGE fail! I understand the nostalgia aspect and focusing solely on that is a problem. Is Toyota wanting to retire the Celica in ten years? Because within 10 years EVs are going to be the desired over ICE, especially ones like this that expect performance. Celica is remembered as a great vehicle and, unfortunately, will be once again. 😢

If the Celica (especially if it's in GT4 trim), MR2, S-FR. and Land Cruiser come to fruition, Toyota is going to be taking big shots across the bow of other manufacturers.

LoL I doubt it…….including GR86….. a total of four sports cars in Toyota range….. to be honest don’t u think too much, especially now demand for sports coupe are all time low…… by the way the rumours from Japanese motor magazines are hardly true…… for the last decades they always mentioned Mazda will bring back RX 7 but where is the new car?

This question is to automotive press. Can you get a Toyota designer to explain the tundra engine failures. For Toyota to get customer confidence they need to explain why the failures are happening and provide a a fool proof fix. I’ve heard of many new tundra’s requiring multiple engine rebuilds. That is not confidence inspiring. To build brand loyalty is difficult and long term reliability is needed. But to lose brand loyalty is easy with Toyotas ongoing recalls and failures.

I can’t understand other than the fact that Toyota just wants huge profits why they did nothing for 10 plus years to this 4 runner. They could have at least put a 6 th gear in it to improve fuel economy. That would have been been a huge game changer. It may be one of the most reliable vehicles but vehicles are still just a liability. With fuel prices at an all time high and climbing, reliable or not just doesn’t justify the price and fuel economy the 4 Runner brings. Most people over buy this truck thinking they will use it off roading but realize after that they should have bought something more sensible. I personally know 3 people that have sold their 4 Runners for this exact reason. They just don’t make sense anymore. The new model is no better intact maybe worse in terms of cost, plus an 4 cylinder unreliable turbo. No thanks Toyota. You build to order snd are losing brand loyalty due this to Honda. Someone at corporate better wake up fast before sales actually slump and Toyota finds itself trying to climb back up.

How do you happen to own that many vehicles and not be completely broke? . It’s a proven fact that people that constantly buy new vehicles live in the lower class and generally have no money.
@drwisdom119 сағат бұрын
Stay away, Mitsubishi is too small a car company. That is why they have to manufacture this car in Japan. Assuming this vehicle lasts, it will be hard to get parts after 5 years compared to a RAV4 or Rogue.

Unless Toyota wants to squander on carbon credit purchases they’re going to have to at least have a mild performance hybrid to erase the turbo lag and increase city MPG. A six speed manual will help the highway speed MPG too end. 🤔

No thanks 🤮. Unless it's a rear wheel drive manual.

If the FJ mini Hooper, Celiac and MR 2 arrive in the USA, Ford, Buick, Jeep, and Chevrolet will have to cancel their car vehicles. Jeep already cancelled their Renegade upon seeing the FJ cruiser mini Hooper out of FEAR:)

True, but it is below Mazda in reliability (according to the most trusted source: Consumer Reports annual reliability surveys) and its TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) is TRIPLE vs. Mazda. Bring My Wallet has a more opulent interior (that's why it is chosen by snobs), but Mazda repositioned itself almost a decade ago as premium (in between the upper mass market Toyota and the luxury Lexus) thus its discreet interior and gorgeous design (beside reliability, low TCO, longevity etc.) give this small (but amazing) Japanese producer a top quality/price ratio.

With Toyota's trend these days, what you're telling me is I should get myself all hyped for an $43K plus $5K dealership mark up for a 1.3L turbo vehicle?
