These knives are a little like IKEA knives. They are affordable, not useless, they will do well in a pinch, but it won't be the last knife you buy.

Filterwell Water filter is only good to 1,000 gallons. The Mini-Sawyer is good to 10,000. Both cost the same and have the same size 0.1 micron filter.

Keep in mind that all of the water filter brands' gallon claims are based on flushing/cleaning the filter on a regular basis, and many if not all of the brands give EXTREMELY optimistic amounts for their marketing purposes.

Id really like to know how well a completely off grid home running on solar panels charging batteries and converting through a ln inverter would withstand an emp. Nobody has done anything on this topic that im aware of. I've been living off grid for years and I'm concerned about my system getting fried since my refrigerator and deep freeze are running on it. There's also no powerlines for miles from my home

Do surge protectors protect against EMP? If only partially, what if you used multiple plugged in one line?

Are electric lighters and similar small electric devices emp proof or do they need protection?

In theory, they could be damaged, so sticking them in protective bag is probably advised.
