To this day, Challenger's design still comes across as absolute sorcery. I know it's been said several times before me but to get such a clean robot out of such a clean vehicle [and vice versa] is impressive. The way I see it, though, UT has mastered the art of faux transformation and I'd say that it's largely due to the fact that they don't skimp out on the finer details. A perfect example is UT's Peru Kill. His chest is supposed to be the front end of the car splayed out but it obviously isn't. They took the high road and hid the actual front of the vehicle away into the rest of the figure, and the same time, gave the faux-car-chest so much detail that it doesn't even matter. The same applies to Challenger and Destroyer. The leg transformation could have been MPM-Optimus levels of complicated but they dumbed it down with a clever use of folding and rotating parts to store away into otherwise hollow limbs that simply extend across the figure. Honestly a work of art that other companies should take design cues from. And a great review as always, man. Your enthusiasm and observational skills never fail to impress me and make me want a figure (namely the Studio Series).

TheBrandonRobert Actually most criticism to UT is the sculptwork is not as deep as Hasbro/Takara releases but that’s still excusable because they don’t have the CAD models.

Their Megatron will come with a replacement head for Challenger as a pre-order bonus, which will probably be the same head this one comes with but in Challenger's colors

For 09:25, regarding your question about having a second head sculpt for prime. They are going to do that with providing that head sculpt with their unique toys Megatron towards end of this year or early next year as a bonus set.

UT Challenger is one of my favorite figures ever but the headsculpt was always sorta lacking. I love this new one! I don't know if I'll get this since he never had this look in the movie but I'm seriously tempted especially after another great PvP review. The new headsculpt comes with Dragoon (their TLK Megatron) so I might wait for that.

I don't mind if it's not particularly CGI accurate, because Punished Prime was a stunningly lazy design. Literally just slapped some more red on him. Besides, this mold pulls off the Scourge/Nemesis Prime color scheme beautifully.

"Nemesis" Prime was never that deco he was just a slightly darker tint of normal Prime and I don't remember him using his shield as a gun

Aoe he used his shield gun a few times. First time was when grimlock and prime ran into the city for the first time and the second was when lockdown was using his ship to suck optimus and the dinobots back up into the ship.
