My biggest gripe with the Yueyang legendary module is that you get a bigger concealment (since it takes the concealment module slot) and this means you get spotted from further away by the other destroyer. Because of this, you have to shoot it also from further away and since Yueyang has poor ballistics, it's very annoying to aim and you miss a lot of shells (which negates the benefit of having a better reload). The module used to be great when Yueyang had amazing firepower to make up for the poor ballistic, but now it doesn't so the legendary module is not really an upgrade over concealment module (and costs RB points). You end up playing Yahagi without the fun.

My problem with the YY upgrade: I played YY a lot in CBs back when Radar YY was a thing, then WG nerfed the hell out of the ships general stats instead of going for the radar itself... giving me no real incentive to play her for the upgrade mission, before they moved the upgrades to the arsenal. For those who didn't play old pre-nerf YY: The nerf moved the main gun reload up from 3 to 4s (+33%) and the torp reload from 136 to 156s... thats a sledge hammer nerf, because it nerfed both the smoke and the radar playstyle at the same time. Over time WG has rolled back some of the nerfs, in fact torp YY nowadays is stronger than it ever was (down to 129s reload, damage up from 17.9k to 18.8k), but they kept the gun nerfs. They also reworked the upgrade itself in 9.5. But now the module costs RB points, plus we also have both Ragnar and Smaland in the game and I own both of them. So again no big incentive for me to spend the RB points on it, compared to getting new ships like Sevastopol... If would roll back say half of the reload nerf, I would maybe be tempted...

so have played my fair share of cv in my time (dont @ me) so for the haku lm i personally use it and love it, it lets u get through flak asnd avoid it easyer and because u aren't in aa range for very long there for if u use it correctly u should lose far less planes for midway, i am personally not a fan because it goes it slot 6 which will take away your buffed plane speed, in my opionion taking away from speed and doing more damage is not worth it for audacious it is interesting because it allowes u to get very close, so if u get closer in a cv your planes will get there quicker so u put out more dmg so i guess it is like a weird version of a speed buff also big fan malta love this format

@@MalteseKnight only for the HEDB, so for me it buffs 1/3 or your resources but nerfs 2/3s, if u wanted to go all in with the divebombers then it is good, but if like me your prefer and all around experiance, then for me the midways UU isnt for me

I saw a video on KZbin of a UU Audacious and she got down to like 9,5 km concealment. Idk what to do with that concealment but you can get it down really far apparently.

Hopefully they'll bring in new LMs to cover all the Tier X ships, particularly tech tree ones, now that neither German BB has an LM and new tech tree branches are being introduced. Be interesting to see what they bring to the ships' gameplay if they do. Nice rundown of the existing LMs, big fan!

Regarding Shima, she gets 10% better torp reload for the cost of -70% traverse speed over normal torp mod 2, risk of incapacipation is the same on both modules

Would be more valuable review if discussing the net difference of gains and losses vs what's already in the slot of the ship the legendary is replacing. For example the groz is -18% to reload, however slot 6 is already -12% to reload

I've only been playing for around 2 years so I'm not sure what it was like in its prime, but it honestly feels like DM's UU could have remained a lot more relevant if there wasn't so much overmatch against it now. I still really like to use it but I do agree that it doesn't really feel that great a lot of times.

I am still working towards it, but the Harugumo smoke effectively becomes crawling smoke, like the Forrest Sherman, puffing for 100+ seconds, but dispersing 30 sec behind it, creeping along at 1/4 throttle. Was actually watching this vid hoping to confirm that.

Most would take the secondary gun module in slot 6 for Kurfurst that gives -20%, the legendary gives -15% (so your 5% slower on secondary) and lose gun range also when the ship doesn't even have far reaching range on main battery. Just to gain a buff to main battery reload rate, Na! that seems a bad trade off to me. What, around 18km main battery range then and 5% slower firing secondary if you usually put secondary gun module in slot 6

Thing is, though, that German BBs are best played as brawlers, and the GK is still one of the best in the game at this. So if you keep that in mind, then the loss of some main gun range is fine, since you can just take a spotter with you if you need a bit of a range boost. Meanwhile, you are getting buffs to the reload times on the main and secondary guns, which will really count when you enter combat. And since it IS a German BB, you're going to get focused by the enemy team, anyway, so you'll be staying behind cover as much as possible while you advance into a position where you are actually effective.

I would not call the Kleber Legendary mod "Garbage", it just changes your ship 100%, I would love to have 2 Klebers in my Port so that I can play both. Essentially you become a Shimakaze that does 55 knots and has 12 very fast hard hitting torps and best in class Torp DPM. The Guns, though useless in a dogfight with DDs, still have great AP performance and getting closer to the enemy undetected means you can citadel Crusers more reliable. Sure, normal Kleber is just better, no surprise it is one of the most OP DDs out there, but if Legend Kleber would be a sepperate ship is would still be very effective and fun. For Z52, I dont have the Legend here, but I could immagine it beeing very good, if you have a gunboat Z52, you dont care about Detection anyways, so all you sacrefice for way better torps is in fact just 5% concelment. Torps on Gunboats are a bonus, but often a very good bonus to draw out DPC and set fires after.

Kleber one is fun sometimes, it makes you a no smoke Benham with faster torps and after ship (taking swift and silent as well) I use the guns only if MBRB is up to shoot down some low hp DD.

18:04 ok - HATE ! 😜 GK LM ... yeah, I was using it very long time, but last time it was like 2 years ago. Todays meta is sadly antibrawl-meta and all the cpt skills and modules you can invest, you invest into survivability if you wanna be somehow effective. For the Dirigible Derby mod it is nice, with some hybrid build. But question is - is it worth to mount and demount it for 25+25 dubs after the mode will be gone ? Yeah... Sad times we live in. You made a couple of mistakes, for smoke of Harugumo it lays smoke for longer however dispersion of it is much quicker - so it lasts less also for Conqueror turret rotation is slower not faster

Because Z-52 has great guns, the unique upgrade buffs it’s torps with a downside of concealment, not worth

6% better gun reload is worth 20% worse torpedo reload on the Grozovoi? I'm skeptical. Even if it doesn't take a long regrind to get it, it's still kind of a bad tradeoff. République's LM also means you don't get the turret traverse penalty, so you either save 2 cpt points or you get excellent traverse, which is better for opportunity shots. Audacious gets less plane survivability but more speed, which kind of pays for it anyway. The extra concealment and maneuverability are a straight upgrade imho, though she's still a weak T10 carrier.

Grozovoi is a gunboat not a torp boat so yeah it’s alright, you def don’t need it, buts it’s still good. I can definitely see your point tho, in where you don’t need it, Also with republiques one, losing 6-7km of range for 1.3s reload and gain some turret traverse is still quite a hard sell, especially since the closer repub is forced to play, the harder it is, since is covered 32mm armour. And Audacious one, thank you, I don’t play carriers, so never sure what to say about them. Big Fan, thanks for the comment!

Percentages out of context dont matter (6%, 20%, it means nothing even if one is bigger than the other). You have to take into consideration the damage you do in games with each armament and reason around a bit. Grozovoi does a lot more damage with guns than it does with torpedoes so that 6% is significant whereas losing 20% on torpedoes isnt that big of a deal. And since guns are more reliable against destroyers than torpedoes (and overall), you become much more effective. Its not necessarily worth grinding for, but the tradeoff is positive.

​@@dzello That sounds like a deeper analysis, but it's not: you also need to consider how effective the damage is and what the torpedoes do beside damage: - torps deal a greater % of unhealable damage than HE, AP or fires - torps are much more likely to get Dev Strikes or otherwise cripple enemies, while guns can take forever: they're just more effective at taking ships off the match - torps might be the only thing you have in the late game, if you're low on hp and you're out of smokes (or no one's spotting for you, or you're afraid of being blind-fired) - torps can be used to yolo distracted, healthy ships: guns, not so much - torps are, at least, good for area denial against DDs, especially in and around caps - 6% better reload means an extra salvo every 17. In many fights it won't make any difference at all: either you'll be dead before you get that extra salvo in, or your target will still be reloading - I know one doesn't often launch torps on reload, but 20-25 more seconds are long time to have to wait, enough to make you waste a good opportunity I agree in general that the Grozo is more of a gunboat, but torps are important: they might not be as *reliable* as guns, but they're often more *decisive*

@@dzello Well, sure, which is why I always took BFT before TAE with the old skill system, and not just for the extra AA. It's just that a lot of what the Grozo does is farming large ships, where reload matters less than in knife-fights, and 20% is just a massive penalty: a few more seconds to the torpedo reload are ok, it might give you more time to try to predict how your target is going to turn. But 20-25 seconds means missing on some good opportunities. Just my opinion. cheers :)

Can you go a bit more in-depth about the legendary-mod for Khabarovsk? I spoke with my clan-mates and many of them hold the opinion that its just not worth it to equip the mod. Mainly because of the overall reduction in heals, which can make the difference between life and death. The range upgrade is outstanding, as I know Khaba's firing range is awful. To handle this I will go for the captain skill of 'Main Battery and AA Expert' to make the range issue more tolerable. (I'm specifically looking Khaba's performance in random battles.) Is there a different build for Khaba concerning this mod and caption skills?

Then tell your clanmates they don't have braincells. More range means more time to dodge and more dispersion of shells shot at you (despite losing the dispersion debuff from the concealment module). More time to dodge and more dispersion of shells shot at you means less damage taken. Less damage taken means less healing needed. When taking all the parameters into account, you end up living longer with this module, not shorter. There's no different builds for Khabarovsk, it's a one trick pony: even if you go stealth, you're not stealthy; even with a torpedo build, your torpedoes are bad. There's no flexibility really. But especially make it clear to your clanmates that they don't have braincells, that's the most important part.

The Harugumo line is the fastest to regrind, but not much more than the other DD lines: go for the one you like best, or have the most permacaptains/permacamos for. I regrinded the Harugumo 2-3 times already, but until the Akizuki it's more of a torpedoboat line, and that can be inconsistent. Right now I'm doing USN DDs, and while they might take me a few more games, they're also more fun across the tiers.

@@couscousmagique3226 Nope, you start at the bottom: Hashidate (Tier 1) -> chikuma -> Umikaze -> Wakatake -> Isokaze -> Minekaze. Obviously, you can use Free XP to get past some of them, if you don't feel like retraining captains every time (or recruiting new ones). Again, pick the line you prefer. DD lines are all cheaper, so go for one you would like replaying, as well as one where you won't miss the T10 ship. I like my lighthouse Henri IV, so I wouldn't reset French cruisers, for example.

Tried the Khaba legendary, still meh ... especially with prop instead of rudder module I have to change my playstyle heavily ... a "normal" Khaba on the enemy team simply trashed me because he was better able to duke shells (both rudder and acceleration) ...

I’ve had no issues with Khabarovsk Unique Upgrade, sure the manoeuvring is worse, but you’re not meant to hunt DDs with it.

The Gearing UU is junk. The benefits from the Gearing UU in the 5th equipment slot are ship's detectability range -15% and enemy shell dispersion +5% at the cost of main battery reload time +15% and torpedo reload time +5%. However, Concealment System Modification 1 in the 5th slot gives ship's detectability range -10% and dispersion of enemy shells +5%. Add captain skill Concealment Expert for another -10% to ship detectability range. The combined effect of -20% to ship detectability is *better* than the UU and at no increase in weapon reload times. The UU for the Gearing _slows_ _down_ the reloads for all its guns and its torpedo tubes for *less* benefit than a standard equipment mod and captain skill. How is that a good thing?!?
