IJN in real life: Fuck we're running out of steel and oil IJN in WoWS: sails around at 37+kn like a madman while spewing 5 tons of steel per minute
@LackeysLack3 жыл бұрын
I was curious, because he fired over 3000 rounds in this battle. Rate of Fire about 15 shells per minute per gun (At first sounded a little fast to me, but it IS JUST a 4" gun, more or less). First shot at 16:56. 1:20 at the end, so 15:36 seconds of battle. About 234 shells fired per gun would be expected in real life (although theoretically it could be up to 20/minute or just over 308/gun). The guns' ammo is a 62 lb HE round (never made anything but HE) with a 29 lb projectile. Proper stockpile is about 400 per gun. Also the gun's expected life. So, it's not entirely unrealistic number of shells (although the ship class would have 8 guns in 4 turrets, not 10 in 5). And yeah, 93 tons of ammunition fired and the ship would have badly needed a restock. Over 6 tons of brass shells per minute.

The only dds that die going after carriers are the ones that get spotted in the process. which admittedly only gets more likely the closer you get to a carrier but, you would be surprised how sneaky some dds captains can be (or how useless your teams are, one of the 2 or both.)
@jjdude55313 жыл бұрын
I think it depends on how much attention the carrier is paying. There's the carrier that you can B-line towards and they will happily send torpedos after bbs until they die.
