IJN in real life: Fuck we're running out of steel and oil IJN in WoWS: sails around at 37+kn like a madman while spewing 5 tons of steel per minute
@LackeysLack
@LackeysLack 3 жыл бұрын
I was curious, because he fired over 3000 rounds in this battle. Rate of Fire about 15 shells per minute per gun (At first sounded a little fast to me, but it IS JUST a 4" gun, more or less). First shot at 16:56. 1:20 at the end, so 15:36 seconds of battle. About 234 shells fired per gun would be expected in real life (although theoretically it could be up to 20/minute or just over 308/gun). The guns' ammo is a 62 lb HE round (never made anything but HE) with a 29 lb projectile. Proper stockpile is about 400 per gun. Also the gun's expected life. So, it's not entirely unrealistic number of shells (although the ship class would have 8 guns in 4 turrets, not 10 in 5). And yeah, 93 tons of ammunition fired and the ship would have badly needed a restock. Over 6 tons of brass shells per minute.

I think what really made this battle stand out in my mind is that normally when the Second Wind talent activates, it's usually near the end of a battle and we don't get to see much of the extreme DAKA as we want. What I love about THIS match is that Robin had the chance to kill THREE more targets with the extreme prejudice of 1 second reload Harugumo

The Sailing Robin is also one of the nicest people in this game. It might be appropriate to mention USS Sea Robin (SS-407). She did three war patrols in WWII, sinking several Japanese merchant ships. Remained in service with the Atlantic Fleet postwar, modernized under the GUPPY program in 1951. Based at New London (actually in Groton), Connecticut, deployed frequently to the Mediterranean and UK. Was frequently open for visitors on weekends in the late 60s, I visited her a couple of times. Decommissioned in 1970 and sold for scrap the next year.

The amount of gunhits are ABSURD! The fact this Harugumo is being captained by the mighty Sailing Robin only makes this video that much more enjoyable~

Saw this battle on Robin's channel, commentary very informative for a newish player like me, Jingles commentary wildly entertaining. Though I am chagrined that a French player is so much better than me....

This was just wrong. I had to take a shower after watching this because even though I didn't play that battle in Harugumo, I watched it and I feel as dirty as a pig on a rainy day. Great battle, by the way, well done to Robin, and thank you Oh Great Overlord for showcasing it!

I love the fact that, once the Second Wind talent activates, since Robin is ripple firing his guns, by the time the aft turret discharges, the bow turret is reloaded. "...because carriers are a balanced class with no exploits whatsoever..." my my Jingles, has somebody been watching TheSpiffingBrit lately?

The only dds that die going after carriers are the ones that get spotted in the process. which admittedly only gets more likely the closer you get to a carrier but, you would be surprised how sneaky some dds captains can be (or how useless your teams are, one of the 2 or both.)

I think it depends on how much attention the carrier is paying. There's the carrier that you can B-line towards and they will happily send torpedos after bbs until they die. Then there's the carrier that immediately launches attack craft and sends them straight towards the most likely spot they are detected from.

@@jjdude5531 True, funny enough having shit detection range is kinda a blessing in Carrier.
