Fun fact: nerologically, working memory and long-term memory are actually very different. For example, they're not located in the same brain region. Being good at one of them doesn't mean you'll be good at the other. I think you could compare it to a computer's CPU vs its HDD/SSD (just because you have a large harddrive, doesn't mean that your CPU will also be great and vice versa), but I don't know enough about computers to make sure that this analogy actually makes sense lmao. This game only tested the working memory. Bonus fun fact: Even when it comes to your long-term memory, there are different brain regions for declarative (memorised facts, autobiographical memories) and non-declarative (knowing how to ride a bike, conditioning...) memories, which is why patients with brain damage might not be able to tell you their children's names but can still tie a perfect half windsor knot (or vice versa).

RAM is short term memory for the computer and gets wiped when the computer is shut off, but it what stores all the stuff you need immediate access to. Everything else gets stored and retrieved from the hard drive in the longer term memory.

In my native language (German), I would've used "Arbeitsspeicher", I thought that translated to "CPU" but I mixed up the translations. I just looked it up and "Arbeitsspeicher" is (as you said) RAM. Thank you, I probably would've used the wrong translation for the rest of my life it it weren't for you!
