The advice about not letting mistakes get to you is soooo helpful. I had a great coach who helped me with that, if the other team scored on me I'd just repeat in my head, 0 - 0, no matter what the score actually was, and it was easier to keep my head clear

For starters, THANK YOU so much for having Aaron Ramsdale in the house (my favourite goalkeeper at the PL right now). In addition to that, I personally struggle a lot with corners, crosses (and free-kicks) and I'm so glad that I have Ramsdale's insight on how to handle these (still plenty of work for me to do though). Lastly, I hope to see him getting more playing minutes with England because he is as good as Pickford and Pope!

this video helped me so much i used to get bullied for being short and even tho i'm an amazing keeper the one goal that goes past me everyone goes like "man get this bad keeper out of here" and when the tall keeper can't save a ball they just go "it's ok" it wasn't fair but there was also some good people that used to cheer me up by saying"it's ok , don't worry, nice save, you are amazing" but most people would just bully me i used to cry from it and i almost got depression but if it wasn't for that advice and i know no one cares but i just wanted to say this

I'm a tall striker with a bit of experience in the gk position. We might have a school tournament (last one was a year ago, we finished 3 spots before the last place) and if our gk needs to play lb (worst case scenario: he gets injured) i will have to play gk, so vids like yours help me get better

As someone who's played as goalkeeper since i was like 10 (am 23 now), he's 100% correct about the "don't only go for power" when shooting. Some of the easiest saves to do in my opinion is when a striker goes for power without any precision outside of the goal area. The hardest shots to try to save are the ones where it's a mid-to-low curve ball close to the post.

Thank you so much for this! I play soccer as an amateur player, I also participate in some local tournaments and stuff. The thing is that I take it too seriously, specially when I make a mistake that ends up in goal against my team. I sometimes get depressed or feel like I wasn't meant for this sport. As a goalkeeper this is hard to swallow. Your advice is super useful since I need to work the day after and continue with my real life.

Great knowledge and understanding. But the one on one scenario with no defenders and the forward running straight on might be a rare occurrence for him, but I face such a scenario frequently at the level that I play. I have to agree though every one on one scenario is different. I wish I'd been taught all theses techniques when I first started some 50 odd years ago, but I'm still playing. I though prefer a one on one with little time to over think, rather than one in which you have too much time to think on it. Great video.

ill be honest, im a really good keeper, i can catch it well i have good movement and i can react fast, the issue that always dragged me down is that im not tall, im 17 and im 169cm, i feel like i would be a liability to my team just because im "small". Any tips or suggestions on what should i do?

If you are a really good keeper, why are you a liability? Mentality aside, focus on your positioning to help adjust for your height. Each keeper has their strengths. There really isn't much you can do about that. You can be really good at goalkeeping, have good positioning, good techniques etc. But if you're short, you're just not ever gonna be as good on a professional level using full-size goals as someone who's like 6'2 or 6'4. There are some good "short keepers", but when people say "short" in regards to a goalkeeper, they're still talking about 180 cm+.
