Dear Frank........I am really indebted to you for making this wonderful course. I accidentally came upon this channel and to be honest with you i finished it in one go. I am research scholar and i am studying materials science (of ceramics). I was not getting any idea about Crystal systems, point and space groups etc. But your lectures were very helpful in understanding the basic concepts in materials science. You have shown me a path and i am will make sure that i will also do something meaningful like this to the community. Keep up you good work and i sincerely hope that you will come up with other meaningful courses in the field of materials science (like Diffraction (X - ray and electron), Characterizations etc).....

Dear Bobu Manuel, thank you very much for your very kind comment. I am happy to hear that this course was helpful for you. I will think about another course, probably X-ray diffraction, but not in the near future. Currently, I am translating my German textbook on crystallography into English; hopefully, it will be published at the end of this year. all the best! Frank

After finishing this course in one go, I would like to thank you for your efforts. This course give me the knowledge I needed, that was presented in both a simple and consice way. As someone who is used to DFT calculations of condensed phase materials, constructing and studying crystals was giving me a lot of trouble. Luckily I found your brilliant course that gave me the basic knowledge I needed to proceed forward. Cheers Dr. Hoffmann.

Thank you so much Frank! In the last week I have been watching your brilliant piece of work here, and was really touched by its great structure and your detailed and dedicated explanations. Especially in this very last unit I am shocked by Sir Penrose’s beautiful tilling and the marvel of quasicrystals. You have really helped me going through this subject, and as well as many other newcomers I believe. Thank you again Frank, for your patience answering all those questions, and for your kindness as a nice tutor. One last question! So according to IUCr , quasicrystal IS crystal right?

I beleive i have acheived creation of quasicrystals by useing cold plasma this was acheived by mistake in an attempt to create one element into another through the cavitational implosion of atoms in the plasma creation process the photos i have of the cystals formed were unidentifiable until now looking at these images the only comparisons i could find were to ancient sumerian depictions of what we today think are early star maps of our solar system and allso when searching in google images star charts kept allso comeing up

Sounds very complicated; I have no expertise in nuclear or plasma physics.
