Have to admit, this is what I thought Brent was going to say. Being them on from reserves and don’t need to spend the CP. Maybe he didn’t say it because you have to screen to make sure you can get them on? So maybe a bit of an advanced strategy.

Great video, learnt a few things. One small and silly thing to add. Don’t forget that the 2nd guy it comes with has a Shuriken catapult. This gives the model assault. Then late game you can auto advance 9” and possible get onto an objective for a secondary. Will probably never be useful, but it’s there 😁

This is why the three weapons platforms should have been three different datasheets. The points cost is based on the D-cannon and this has made the vibro and spinner over priced.

@@abraxas365 i really dont know why they done them under one dataslate. Space marines have a data slate for each tank and speeder variant. The spinner model is so nice but at present i will never take it for the price.

People at my gaming group always ask for the range of my 2 ASW. They've learned to ask for that. This unit is probably the most consistent in the codex because of fate dice and far seers.

I used Vibrocannons and D-Cannons in 2nd ed. to great effect. I've been disappointed ever since, particularly how the Vibrocannon went from OP to auto-nope. That said, I appreciate how you broke it down for the new edition. I can field 3 D-Cannons, one in each edition of the miniatures, two of which are metal.

I run Ynnari so I can’t get the Autarch CP to fire/fade but auto-6 advance strat is also amazing turn 1 to reposition

3:0 at a one day RTT yesterday, I took my 3 Dcannons. Mirror Ynnari match, also had 3 Dcannons! Was on Purge the foe and the cagiest game ever, really good fun having 6 of these on the board lol

Vibros with blast and torrent, and base D6+2 shots just like the weaver, might be usable. Shadow weavers just compare badly vs an MSU reapers with the tempest launcher that is just 80 points. Still, the problem is "everything costs the same", it is like the worst idea in 10th.

It’s crazy how useful the D-Cannon is if you can pop off an overwatch with it. A terminator unit tempted into a strategic hole in your backline _within line of sight_ of this is definitely going to smell a trap. Good. Controlling the enemy movement through fear. Sometimes my opponent sees the support weapon and immediately wastes Oath of Moment on it. Mostly I run it, as Alaitoc, as a deterrent for thinking about coming near my lines.

I'm surprised you didn't talk about keeping the weapons in reserve and pulling them onto the midfield turn 2. Means you don't have to worry about the move stat~

2 CP to fire and fade a D-Cannon 3 inches forward? That sounds like a ballsy move. I'm not sure I'd be confident enough to capitalise on that. Esepcially with hypercrypt and grey knights running rings around my local meta..

Yeah. Don't do it obviously if it isn't going to work, but often another 3" is the difference between being obscured and not being obscured, and it's worth 2CP for the shooting. If there are no targets, just advance

I have a feeling that D cannons should've had Wraithseer's D-cannon stats. Then 65 points(maybe, i dont remember) for a piece from the start of the edition would be justified, rather than obliterating value of other weapon options

very quick and easy with some choices for the troops. And as said in the video, you don’t even have to glue the guns! They pop right on and can be moved in its swivel without issues/coming loose
