Recently subbed and I'm catching up on all your older content. Keep up the good work! I actually do like to use these with orders from Leontus on Turns 1/2 because a lot of armies lately are focusing very heavily on killy units and not enough on Objective Control. A good example is a Daemons list that takes a lot of the Greater Daemons and not enough of the small ones. On turn 1 mostly everything is hidden so Leontus doesn't need to give orders to Dorns or Russes so the Basilisks make the best use of his orders. If the Basiliks can delete that cheap unit sitting on their home objective on T1 then your opponent will have to divert units that would have been pressuring your lines to objective babysitting duty. Effectively the Basilisks killed two units by taking out that one. So they might not have as impressive a kill tally as your heavy hitters but the overall impact they had on the course of the game was much greater.

Yeah it's iconic. I just wish GW took some time to truly balance the Guard's artillery pieces, making them equally viable (but not neccesarily equally versatile). It makes no sense to me that a couple of mortar teams are an objectively better pick than a Wyvern, which is being outclassed by basically any artillery, even a hydra which really ought to be the most niche artillery in the whole game. I guess I'm just bitching about the aenemic Wyvern, but there's a broader point that the Guard need more thought put into their artillery roles given that they're such an important part of the army.

Finally picked one up after neglecting my artillery regiment, took one look at the datasheet and now I'm looking into how fast I can get this put into my roster for a crusade game

Unfortunately, I never invested in these. I do run up to 3 units of Bombast, and they actually do way more work than I expected. I also use a lot of mortar teams and I am quite pleased with the performance of those as well. As stated when combined with some scout sentinels artillery units are great. Back line of my more competitive list is artillery on the back edge of deployment then scout sentinels out front, some bullgryns in between to block incoming charges on artillery then, remaining points on troops for objectives.

Slowing down movement is sick, wish I could take one of these with Tau :(

There are a lot of Guard units that would do wonders for a Tau cadre. Unfortunately, GW thinks that the Tau only needs more suits.

give them the take aim order and shooting on a target "painted" by a scout sentinel and they will hit on 2´s and rerolling 1´s

I recently bought a Basilisk, but it had a missing piece. No big deal, i just contacted customer support and got sent another one. The same piece was missing.

I think it's because the instructions for the basilisk are incorrect.

Because he is wrong. Their ability gives minus 2 to movement,advance and charge. Perfect to deal with heavy Infantry and terminators, making Them very slow. It is not all about the damage. This ability Can really mess with your enemy. I.e.Votan.🎉.

I'm not wrong in the sense that Earthshakers aren't effective for killing terminators. Board control and unit manipulation? Definitely, and I do mention that in the video. With Terminators having 3 wounds and access to Armour of Contempt, a Basilisk are unlikely to kill more than 1 in a shooting phase.
