Yes I have - and I agree! The new United Club is like a "lite" version of the Polaris Lounge. Nothing like the old United Club.

If you are flying between EWR-SFO (which is considered premium transcontinental service) then you should be able access the United Club. Doesn't look like you would get access in Hawaii, however. www.united.com/ual/en/us/fly/travel/airport/united-club-and-lounges/access.html
