I remember this video. One change from this video is that the Star Alliance members now all operate from Terminal 1, rather then being divided between the 2 terminals.

The amusing part is that every time I go through Narita, the Health Consultation Desk is empty so you just walk straight through, although at such times there is a sign stating that if you feel ill (even with just a cold), you cannot proceed until you have spoken with a Health Officer, and to wait for assistance.

>Tecwhizz Those blue buildings are Cargo Terminal. The shuttle runs in front of the blue buildings, but does not stop there. There is a train station called "Higashi Narita" which the shuttle makes a stop on the way from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2.

@B0eing1992 Many airlines still use the firm that makes these videos, which only show how to get around the airport your flight is heading for as a courtesy to avoid people getting lost. Of which Narita, like London's Heathrow, is basically a long hike from your flight to Immigration and Quarantine, during which you can get sidetracked by signs which are for international connecting passengers to go through screening before connecting with either terminal.

Saudia showed one of these arrival videos on a JED-IAD flight I was on. I was geeking out a little since the video was clearly produced by the same production company who produced these UA arrival videos all those years ago.
@InuKun200813 жыл бұрын
@B0eing1992 Nope. They were playing these until only a few years ago when the new Airshow program displays arrival information for passengers, it made these videos obsolete.

Today, United, ANA and the other Star Alliance carriers run out of 1 South, with a huge all Star Alliance checkin area for international passengers. ANA's domestic flights run out of the downstairs domestic terminal.

As far as United (though other carriers did use them), they were mostly used for the Pacific gateway airports (those in Asia and US airports that served Asia in the early 2000s).

I've noticed the subtitles are all in Kanji. Would a Japanese person normally understand if there are no Kana characters?
@aresef6 жыл бұрын
cyndie26 The subtitles are actually in Chinese. United inherited Pan-Am’s Asia hub, though today, they no longer operate intra-Asia flights out of there, leaving that part to ANA.

You can also hear some faint talking behind the narrator's voice, which might be a Japanese voiceover.

anyone have the video for IAD? or LHR?
@dragontoothless4351 Жыл бұрын
Don't recall one beung shown for IAD during my LHR-IAD flights as you basically got off the flight, walked over to a plane mate shuttle which would then take you over to the Immigration Hall at the Main Terminal (which moved position in 2006 from the west side to the south side if the International Arrivals block). You'd then clear Immigration, collect bags, and clear Customs before walking out into the main terminal. If you had connecting flights, you'd have to go back upstairs to the checking counters and head to security at the back, before making your way to your next gate. Otherwise, either go up the arrivals ramp if someone is picking you up, or down the taxi ramp to get a taxi. Of course, metro now serves IAD directly instead of taking a bus to the metro station (Originally West Falls Church, then Wheile after the initial silver line stafe completed), so there's now an underground walkway to the Dulles Metro Station the other side of daily parking.
