The algorithm led me here, and I think I've stumbled upon something incredible. I'm a pilot with nearly 20 years of service in the Allied Forces. While I'm not from the US military, the fact that United Airlines has such a strong program that respects the military and utilizes military careers as an asset is a testament to their character. This company is truly remarkable and seems to be one that values diversity. I see this as a potential end point for my career, and I hope to reach it one day. The interview was truly impressive, and I wish the channel the best of luck in its growth.

DEI does not mean unqualified. In case you missed it they hire from the military. A lot of military pilots can check the DEI box. I doubt they would be less qualified than the average dude just getting out of flight school.

​@@obosumba DEI litterally means they will purposefully hire less qualified people, passing up the most qualified applicants if necessary to fullfill arbitrary skin color quotas. That isn't even a side effect it is the entire goal of DEI! Didn't Earn It is a disgusting bigoted ideology. Everbody claims to hire from the military, its just patriotic sounding PR. There haven't been nearly enough military pilots to go around since the end of the cold war, and the problem is never with the first round draft picks anyway. It's when you get down the list to the third and fourth tier that problems start to show. There are also a ton of uncertified positions in the company that can undermine the pilots and the business in general, and weak businesses inevitably panic and start cutting even more corners.
