Hearing the engines roar and seeing how high up the plane gets, just now made me think: I wonder what Orville and Wilbur Wright would think if they just suddenly showed up? We've come a long way.

I have also heard that in UA Global First, from the March 3 integration until the rollout of the new experience, they offer the same menu as in C, just on larger plates with a different wine list. The implementation of the new offerings should coincide with new blankets, pillows, amenity kits, etc deployed consistently across the new UA.

Most US Carrier's first class is simply not up to scratch. This is equivalent to a Business Class product on a lot of other airlines, Air NZ, Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines, just to name a few.
@sfflyer1239 жыл бұрын
+Michael Qian I agree. They have a long way to go.
@marceabarringer16099 жыл бұрын
Even AMERICAN'S 3 best business class products 772, 77W, 788 are nearly as good, if not better than this
@sfflyer1239 жыл бұрын
+Marcea Barringer I've heard this also.
@paulconnors20789 жыл бұрын
+Michael Qian I'm an American and I AGREE with you! It seems as if the US carriers don't either want or care to compete with foreign flag airlines. And then, to add insult to injury, they nickel and dime you, even in First Class for fees for extra baggage. I have really come to hate flying...............
@sfflyer1239 жыл бұрын
+Paul Connors i heard the other day that the biggest source of revnue for the airlines and how they have been making record profits is through baggage fees.
@marshw1312 жыл бұрын
Do you have any trips scheduled in UA Global First after May 1, 2012 (which is approximately the date when we presume the upgraded soft product will be deployed)? If so, I (and the entire FF community) will be anxious for a detailed accounting.

Yes, Dulles to Munch is much shorter than Munich to dulles. The winds play a huge role. SFO to HKG is 14 hours, but HKG to SFO is 10hrs.

Actually, this plane is a former United plane--meaning it's not a CO plane. So it was simply UA business class--before the merger and after. The seats are UA business and first, not the CO business/first seats. Thanks for your comment, though.
@marshw1312 жыл бұрын
Well, the launch date certainly isn't official, but the rumor is consistently May. It is known that UA has been busy re-designing new unified BF menus that more closely match PMCO food. A matching upgrade to the food in Global First is presumed. In the interim, my understanding is that each operating airline (CO/UA) continues to serve its own pre-merger-like offerings (e.g. UA's chocolate-covered raspberry icecream and CO's sundaes).

Outstanding!!! So good to see you back with another exceptional video in the sff signature style:) Very well done, thank you very much for posting it. Was wondering what the finer car in your life was, hehe? Dont put be ashame by telling me it was German:) UA really seems to have a fantastic service, apart from the lounges. The new seat and space are just impressive as the menue. Did they use the trolley, btw? Or was it dining on demand? How do they do it?.

@StarBuckzSupreme Yes, the over-sized buses. It seems that some terminals keep the moon buggies, but some have gone to the tram. I liked riding in them, but I didn't like the time it took to get to the terminal and waiting for them. They were fun to ride in unless they got super-crowded, but I didn't like it when it got supercrowded and you had to wait for them. Thanks for the comment!

@hoho657chan Thank you, hoho. Yes, I think you're right. LH first definitely is a league above UA. Certainly it is that way with the lounge, no question about that. The LH first class terminal vs the UA international first lounge in Dulles is like the difference between a Ferrari vs a Honda Accord. I just noticed at around 2:30 that the first thing you're greeted with is your pillow/blanket on your seat. I expect that in coach class since there is no where else to put such items but seems odd that as a first class passenger, the first thing you have to do before you sit is to stow away your pillow/blanket. Makes for a rather odd presentation especially in first class. Love your videos, btw :)

sfflyer123, do you agree that the new IPTE UA F Suite is a superior hard product to the old Lufthansa F seat? Or does the fact that one seat is blocked off on LH make a large different? But not really a "suite" design - and the IFE tech is no different from UA's OLD 1998-F suite!
