I live in Lisbon and regularly watch Sporting and Benfica in their home games, Neves, Antonio Silva (Benfica) and Gonçalo Inácio (Sporting) are easily 3 of the top players in the league. Many of my Portuguese friends who support Sporting like Inácio but rate Diomande as better, but Sporting and Benfica fans all agree that Neves is a generational talent.

Casemiro's atittude was one of the best, he came the the club specifically after seeing what a shambles it was because he wanted to help. He was always up for it last season, (over-enthusiastic if anything) so I don't know if it's his mind or his body that is unwilling this year. It's weird you are so hard on his attitude but you constantly defend Rashford who's body language and performances have been as bad or worse. Casemiro, like Onana or Maguire plays in a position where mistakes are punished, so his mistakes are magnified. Rashford's constant losing of the ball and halting the flow of play usually just ruins our counter attacks. It's no coincidence he started nearly every game as part of a 3 pronged attack and we have such a terrible goal statistic this season. I would keep Rashford because of the potential upside if it wasn't for his ridiculous wages.

Jay the release clause sets the absolute highest price you have to pay. Of course you're going to low-ball the offer by as much as you can get away with, that's how you get the lowest price! Ok, so i love this player but to be real about the situation, he’s one for a possession style beyond the transition style we play now. For that same purpose, selling Bruno for a big amount is not the horrible idea people think. Bruno is a transition player mostly, and replacing him will severely increase our ball retention. Chance creation would have to change from surprises and worldie assists into more of a systematic outplaying of the opponent with loads of short passing and overwhelming movement. This all only applies if Erik stays, because Pep and Arteta ain’t coming and nobody else can pull that off. Ideally we’d have both options though. But given that we need a destroyer DM, competitive ST as well as two CBs, it’s not realistic to both keep Bruno and get this boy as well.
