I'm planning this trip for my 60th in a few years. I still recall when Continental flew "Air Mike" on this route with a Boeing 727.

wow, "Air Mike" and Boeing 727 are definitely throwback words!! :-) Hope you enjoy the trip when you do it.

That is a fun trip! Thank you for documenting it. I was stationed on Oahu and later lived there after leaving the military. The International dateline is very disorientating, especially doing it overnight in the days before smartphones, and digital watches usually only having a couple of timezones.

I salute you for your service.

@@BlueMonkey4n6 Thank you! “Serving” in Hawaii is really just a years long vacation at a tropical fitness resort, with the occasional visit to other countries on islands.

The Amata Kabua international airport has wifi now and Kwajalein is an Army installation base. It's an missile defense for the U.S and for U.S allies. So the Marshall Islands, FSM nd palau is protected by the U.S so it's called the cofa treaty.

Fantastic, thank you so much for the updates and info on Kwajalein.

Good video. How much did you pay for these flights?
@BlueMonkey4n626 күн бұрын
I believe a non-stop or one-stop roundtrip between Honolulu and Guam is about bit over USD$2,200. If you add the 5 stops from this video, the price goes up by USD$1,000 or so.
