United States Coast Guard life jacket requirements for all charter boats

The Coast Guard requires that charter boats carry Type 1 PFDs ( personal flotation devices ) for each passenger on board. Those life jackets must have a light and whistle attached to them as well. For boats that operate on Lake Erie in NY, any passenger under the age of 12 must wear at least a type 3 pfd vest and you must have a type 1 pfd on board for them as well. Details details.
